I don't understand. Does Square do this out of spite? Is it demands from Sony? 

For sure. Just doesn't make much sense to multiplat the prequel to the main game, but gating off the main series, which is what's most popular. 

Oh well.

Crisis Core is a prequel to the original FF7, not the remake. OG FF7 is on Xbox so if you enjoyed that game then getting Crisis Core still makes sense.

This is a good point. I'd much rather have Persona, Soul Hackers, Tales, Yakuza, and even Street Fighter over FF. Obviously it would be nice to have everything, but Sony is doing what they feel is best for their brand. I wish Sony would moneyhate KH over FF. Maybe they will do both. DQ I'm not sure on, they might go back on that one. 

While I'm sure MS could roll up to SE with a bag of money and they would take it, I doubt they would see that as worthwhile. I'm content with getting SEGA and Namco's games at least now. 

Not even going to bother with 7 remake until the whole thing is done anway. 

All the talk about FF7 is which piece of plastic you can play it on. Can we take a moment to talk about the fact they've literally just abandoned the 'remake' concept lol. This is literally a completely different game now. The first 'remake' already took some creative liberties, while hinting that the story would diverge (with bizarre telepthic memories from the original game or something like that, who knows). But if it wasn't already obvious then, it's crystal clear now that this project is 'Final Fantasy VII Nomura Remix Edition'--

We'll all be senior citizens by the time this 'project' actually gets completed, and it'll be a miracle if it's even halfway comprehensible by then.

But in all seriousness, if they're putting the Crisis Core remaster on Xbox, seems there's at least a chance the 'remake' games will eventually find their way over, possibly. I don't see a reason to avoid it on principle. I can wait a year or two for Sony's moneyhat deal to end before playing the next game. I played the first on PS4, and while interesting, it didn't make me feel I should lose my mind over it (one way or the other).

Honestly, the whole FF7 Remake 'project' has become laughably overblown. The most hyped announcement in the history of mankind, an eternity to finally get a game out, become just a 'part one', was barely even a full game by modern industry standards, taking an eternity to get the next part, won't even be on the same game system and can barely be considered a 'remake' anymore. Oh, and Nomura has to constantly shift his role/take a back seat, because he can't be trusted to actually lead and finish a game he starts. It's like the mother lode of all Nomura-isms wrapped into one big vanity project. The cherry on top would be the final part being entirely a musical/opera game, like he originally wanted for FF15.

I respect that.
