If Todd Howard's recent comments to IGN are true, single player games will be their main focus.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Bethesda always had announced a game at E3 then released it later that year. I imagine they showed off Starfield at E3 2021 for Microsoft to flex that "console exclusive" banner lol. There were a few comments on this site thinking that the development of the game is suffering due to no gameplay being shown. There was no way Bethesda was going to show gameplay a year and a half before launch haha. So Starfield will have all the info dropped as Xbox's big showcase at next year's E3! Can't wait!
When will this years Game Awards nominees be announced?
I would give it a 5/10, the first half year was basically 'were are the games? well here is gearts tactics a pc port and atleast we have gamepass'.
Second half year was basically, 'here is MS flight simulator' a port of a pc game!! Here is deathloop that you can't play on your Xbox!, here is age of empires.....well you also can't play it on your xbox.... Here is Halo!!! (Please ignore that it was a promisded launch 2020 game, but the delay makes 2021 atleast look better)...here is Forza and Psychonauts!!
It just doesn't look so bad because it was so bad in the past.
And if you would go troiugh this thread this year and see how many fans are so thirsty and desperate for new acquisitions* I just can't see why someone would be so positive about this year. Even their silly conferences (except E3) that no one asks for are still a thing.
*(because yeah xbox dev situation is fine, not bad but also not great)
I give it a solid 8 overall.
The best hardware, so many games to look forward to, Japanese support slowly trickling in, GOTY Horizon, plus all the game pass offerings.
Looking forward to 2022.
