The thing is...it doesn't really affect a PS gamer that much if Bethesda games aren't on PS in the future, because you'll just be able to stream it to whatever low end PC you might have, or your smart TV, your tablet, or whatever it may be.

That's very true, as cloud gaming and internet infrastructure advances the impact to the end user is going to be less and less. Though we still aren't at a point where XCloud gives an acceptable gaming experience for me. Geforce Now and Stadia are ok for me, but XCloud not yet.

xCloud has a lot of work to go still even with good internet, I'm a bit surprised that from everything I've read, Stadia seems to overall offer a much better experience than xCloud does, despite Microsoft having a better Cloud infrastructure, they have to step up! Lol.

But it is true that it will improve over time and Streaming is something in its infancy so there's no 'rush' yet to make the absolute best but it will improve over time and Game Pass will practically be everywhere, on low-end and high-end devices, even Switch/PS if they ever allow it.

UK internet is trash too. At least we have unlimited download but most people I know have average speeds, me included.

Yeah I don't think it will take them too long to get it there, they're actually investing in it unlike PSNOW. Last time I tried it was when they added the Series X support, but there was a lot of artifacting and audio cutting while Geforce and Stadia work nearly perfect for me. It's possible the servers were just overloaded with all the new interest, but I'll give it another shot at some point.

More from Grubb.

Tbh, I wouldn't be surprised either if Square dumps Crystal Dynamics and even Eidos if Guardians of the Galaxy underperforms.

Even Imran Khan commented on the situation, according to Grubb Square Enix have nothing related to Marvel lined up after GotG outside of updates for Avengers and DLC.

TheGrill 2021: Fireside Chat With Strauss Zelnick & Phil Spencer (yahoo.com)

At 34:00 Strauss says Game Pass is about 30m subscribers, Phil laughs and says the last number they publicly announced was 18m...Oops? Did Strauss screw up? Lol. Strauss follows up with "it's more than 18" Lol.

About 30m would be really good, I'm sure Strauss knows roughly too as Xbox would definitely have to tell publishers their subscriber numbers when they make Game Pass deals I'm assuming. Course "about 30m" could be anything above 25m, Lol. Could be 26-29m.

Great find.

Yeah Zelnick would 100% be in the know about these kind of figures. Somewhere in the 25m-30m range sounds very plausible from reading that room. Very big business.

Don’t think that we will get an official update on GP subs till the end of the year, very likely waiting for the Halo/Forza boost to see how much further it reaches.

I agree that somewhere down the line MS should try to make a bid. As in make the first move and offer instead of waiting for SE to make a decision.

MS will also very likely target those IP’s and the total value would be north of 1 billion imo.

I don't really understand how people became outraged/concerned about The Initiative contracting Crystal Dynamics as a support studio it's what happens in every modern AAA game with support studios and multiple contracts for assets etc to other developers.

If I recall The Coalition only had around 150 developers when Gears 4 shipped and they did a presentation about how all the support with Splash damage and other developers was easy with the infrastructure MS has set up and that they had around 500-600 people working on it in total.

Part of me wants to see Panos make an affordable Xbox handheld despite the fact that I think it would flop, Lol. I've thought in the past it wouldn't be worth it but I still sorta want to see what Panos would create, I see Surface Duo being pitched as a Xbox gaming device in some respects but at that ridiculous price, nobody is using that for gaming, Lol.

Just a part of me wants to see what it would look like, even though I think it would flop and all this touch-screen/attachments stuff won't ever replace the feeling of an actual handheld. I've asked for Game Pass/xCloud on Switch in the past too but I think I'm in the minority there.

I'll buy Xbox handheld day one if it will have physical controls and will run games natively (not cloud based). And I'm sure that it can be really successful right now, but the problem is that there is no tech to make such handheld that will be compatible with Xbox games at the moment so Microsoft won't bother with that.

Such an amazing level/moment.

Yeah I loooove Jack Black. I didn't even know he was in the game and I didn't recognise his voice until he started to sing, was such a cool moment.

Psychonauts 2 deserves a GOTY nomination at least, fantastic game.
