Now, you're just coming up with excuses. Here's the facts. There are plenty of asymmetrical controllers for the PS4, both officially licensed and 3rd party. People, in the 10s of millions, are choosing the DS4 over all of them when they need another controller, either for a 2nd player or because it broke. This is a conscious choice.

As much as Xbox fans and sometimes Nintendo fans (only when Nintendo doesn't choose symmetrical) may not like to admit it, symmetrical is the preferred controller. Or, best case scenario, people really just don't give a shit and will adapt to whichever.

Why dont you ask the PC gamers which controllers they prefer to game on, since PC has the option for both 360/XB1 and DS4 controllers and you will be suprised.

Also 3rd party controllers never sell aswell as the stock controllers. That same argument can also be use for Xbox owners who also have the choice between analog placements yet by the stock controllers.

More excuses. If asymmetrical was the vastly preferred way to play, it wouldn't matter if the DS was stock. Gamers would be picking up asymmetrical controllers because it was so much better. As for PC gamers, Xbox controllers have been designed to work easily with PCs, with many games having Xbox prompts, while DS controllers weren't so friendly. Only DS4 was changed to fix this. Interestingly, DS4 is the best selling controller ever. You would think with all of those PC gamers buying XBO controllers it wouldn't even be a contest. Guessing some of them have been buying DS4s, too.

Let's just be honest here. The only reason asymmetrical controllers came about is because MS didn't want to look like they were completely ripping off the DS when they came out with the Xbox. Especially when they redesigned the controller to be smaller. Xbox fans hold onto the false notion that it's better because it's linked with Xbox or they are used to it. If Xbox had a symmetrical controller, you'd probably say it was the best ever.

All this talk doesn't change simple nature. We have symmetrical hands, so a symmetrical controller makes sense. Of course, like I said, most people probably don't give a shit and can adapt.

Ok?

I'm failing to see what this has to do with ppl buying DS4 over assymetrical controllers, except that 1) ppl indeed are choosing DS4 over other controllers as replacements, and 2) 3rd party accessory makers who make assymetrical controllers are being outpaced by the normal DS4.

Like i mentioned in another post, 3rd party controllers are always the unpopular choice for a console. Same goes for Nintendo and Xbox with there PS styled 3rd party controllers that are available to them.

DS4 is still not as popular than the Xbox controllers for PC.. so your argument doesn't hold up. If gamers preferred the PS styled analog placements over the asymmetrical design than PC gamers would be flocking to the DS4 controllers, but they don't seem to be, I wonder why? Also PC gamers mostly use Keyboard and Mouse and most times a 360 controller is the 2nd best choice for the audience.

The DS4 is the best selling controller on a platform that has sold the most since the PS2.. do you see a link here? 95% of the PS4 controller options are DS4s so its a no brainer its flying off the shelf with a 100m customers. Controllers don't last forever so PS4 owners will go out and buy another set and that leads to another shit ton of controllers sold due to simply buying extras and replacing the old ones.

Haha you can believe what you want why Xbox went with the asymmetrical design. Many claim the 360 controller to be the best controller design ever made, I don't hear much about PS controllers fitting in that same league. You can say other wise, I don't expect you to agree.

Your last point is another preference opinion. Most games I play, my right thumb is more comfortable on pressing the buttons while also spreading out the analog sticks so I don't feel like my thumbs are going to touch half the time. But hey that's just my opinion.

What I do know in gaming is that keyboard + mouse is as asymmetrical as can be and still, a lot of people think it's the best controller.

Keyboard Is designed for Typing it isn't really designed for gaming.

I hope it's not much heavier than the DS4, because it's definitely bulkier.

It's already mentioned by Wired Editorial Peter Rubin, it's slightly heavier than DS4 but less heavier than Xbox One controller.

What is this shit, asymmetrical vs symmetrical trolls jump into a thread, your controller is wrong crap.

I don't really care what they keep. Touchpad never used it, light didn't bother me and I don't think I used it.

As long as the shape, feel and weight are about the same as DS4 then it will be a good controller.

Sure thing. Still you are questioning why symmetrical still exists and I explained.

Sure. The Existence of Symmetry "in animals and most stuff" is what I was questionning

And I explained that a great bunch of people like symmetrical controls AND most stuff is symmetrical thus why it is 0 problem existing symmetrical controllers in 21 century.

So will we be recharging the controller every 3-4 hours like the PS4 one?

My Pro-controller for my Switch last for atleast 25-30 hours

1st gen PS4 controllers definitely lasted 4-5 hours MAX. Typically 3-4. But the one I bought last year for Cmas regularly last me almost a full day marathon session (I am confident in saying it last 8 hours easily). I have an older controller that last 3-5 hours that I only use while the new one is charging.

All my PS4 controllers have routinely worked for a full day of gaming without a problem even after 5 years of use.
