No they dont. A FF8 style remaster would be fine. FF7 gets that treatment because its the crowel jewel of that company. LoD is not.

I think Soul Reaver would be much easier to remake. It's already 3D and is very story driven, so really just needs updated visuals and controls. I kind of doubt they would make a straight remake of Blood Omen with higher quality 2D assets. More than likely they would aim for a 3D remake, which would take much more time and effort. I would love to see remakes of the whole series, really.

Why not??? It's better if they go with a bang instead make a small HD remake and please as much as i love FF8 HD remastered dont use that as comparison. LOD is one of PS legacy that compete with FF7 on the past. It's pre rendered graphic was top notch and also ambitious project to Sony. If Sony can make games like God of War and Horizon zero down then Sony can make games as big as FF7 remake easily.

When i read the tweet and saw some of the hints towards LOD i wondered how you would react XD, not to mention they had already teased us about it some months ago.

That being said... ahh... i honestly dont think its gonna be LOD its not that i hope that its something else, in fact i would take a LOD remake over a Remake of DeS or ZOE2 in an instant, however the reason i just cant believe its LOD is because if you have played that game you would know that remaking it would be a GIGANTIC task on parallel with remaking FF7 (a game so big it had to be broken into parts because there was no way they could fit all of that in one PS4 game).

Just think about some of the towns or kingdoms you visit on the game (like the one of King Albert), imagine making that town on PS4 and being able to explore ALL of it instead of a couple of streets like in the original, that would be just too much and thats not even talking about the whole map which is huge, in the original game you would just travel from place to place by moving Dart over a map, if we are talking about a remake of this game i expect that map to be an actual world you can explore with all the places (towns, cities, dungeons) on it, like The Witcher 3, GTA, or any other open world game.

Not to mention they said they are working on 2 games and i just dont see how its possible for them to be working on something so huge like LOD while also remaking another game at the same time.

However there is a chance they are just remaking all the assets and making it look like a brand new PS4 game without updating the technical aspect of the game, (like making it open world, making the cities and towns fully explorable etc), but if im honest i would be dissapointed if thats the case because i want this game to get the FF7 treatment, that being said i would still take this version of the remake over nothing and would still be incredibly hyped about it.

Honestly i find LOD to be the most interesting and fun game they have ever done, just my opinion...

Just the thought of being able to explore all those places in fully 3D, rendered in top of the line graphics in 4k, on a PS5 with the soundtrack on the background is enough to make me forget about any other game, just imagine being able to explore ALL OF IT as in every house, every street (heck even the top of the houses) on every town and city in LOD... all with a AAA budget and attention to detail that you dont see in 99% of the games out there.

also would you want the graphics to be cel shaded or photo realistic like FF7? i would prefer the latter but im ok with both.
