This will not affect PS3 GTA 4 sales. PS3 hardware will sell twice as many as the 360 when GTA 4 is released.
LOL at the PS3 fans defending the PS3 version. Unlike some folks, I did read all these posts. I do think it won't necessarily be a huge, huge expansion - maybe an extra area or two (like a small town) but it will be huge when you talk to your friends who own PS3s and say you've been to Utopia in the game and they say you're lying. Then, they come over, see you - and - Madskillzceo - blazing it up online over LIVE.
Starcraft, the biggest defender of the 360 on this site. Win, baby!!!

Well at the end of the day this is what Microsoft has done. There is not a single person that loves GTA that can reasonably say they'd prefer to play the PS3 version. There are hardcore GTA lovers that have already committed to the PS3 and cannot afford a 360 as well. There are mediocre fans that will get the PS3 because they like other games.
But at the end of the day, the only way to complete the GTAIV experience is to own the Xbox 360 version. Period.

I say the PS3 version is better. I have seen a review where a guy claimed PS3 version of GTA 4 is better. That guy even claimed he was known as a XBox 360 fan.
What happens when Rockstar release dlc for PS3 because they may release new material not found in the xbox dlc. So that would be hilarious but a long way off.

It's funny how you totaly dieregard a printed magazine but take full belief in the PR spin of MS and other internet sources.
@starcraft
I have spent over $1000 on this franchise between hardware and software. I have played both GTA3 and VC to 100% completion. I had over 90% complete when I finshed SA, LCS, and VCS. I would say I am about as hardcore a GTA fan as it gets. And yes I bought my PS3 for GTAIV.
Sure all that extra content and acheivments sound cool on the 360, but what good are they going to do me if I'm sending my bricked box back in for service. I guess I only have to wait a few weeks to get it back *scoffs*, but what if it bricks in the middle of the last mission string. I got to wait 3 weeks to see the end of the game WTF?
Your generalization that only the true GTA fans will buy the 360 reeks of fanboi and offends me. People buy what they see value you in and there is more value in the PS3 than the 360 IMO and many of the other hardcore GTA fans that bought a PS3 for this game see it the same way.
Real GTA fans know that R* (much like any other business) wants the money and if 40% of GTA4 owners have a PS3 that's 40% they'll find some way to make happy with exclusive DLC content of their own or bringing what they already gave MS later on down the road.

To think ... Billy Gates would just let $50M pay for extra guns ... ROTFLMBO. It was for an experience that you can't find on any other console. And seeming Billy and M$ paid $50M, why should R*, out of the graciousness of their heart, create episodes for the PS3? Man, the Sony fanz won't quit.
R* said - it's not a taunt, it's not a figment of my imagination - it's a fact:
"But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose."
Folks can get mad all they want to, they can craft fairy tales, but the only folks who will play episodic content on their PS3 are either sitting in a room in a mental hospital, poppin' meds and wearing a football helmet ... or heading that way.

Even if my 360 bricked and I do have my PS3, I'd much rather buy a PS3 copy from a pawn shop for next to nada than spend the money on a game that I know good and well has extra content on my other console.
There is value in a PS3 for some, but reality is - if the cheaper console has the lower entry point, the extra content and episodes vs. the expensive HD movie console with no hopes of extra content ... please, do the math. The cheap console is gonna win, plain and simple.
RROD shouldn't affect buyers of GTAIV.
My Xbox has never had it. And if your console has survived this long then it should be fine. Everyone else should have the newer improved models by now from replacements or first-buys.
I'm fairly sure the RROD is a past phenomenon.
