Forums - Sales - Yesterday was Wii Fit day in the VG Chartz store

^ I too have noticed that the number of uses online has increased; we're normally at 200 registered users online at any time now (peak times), where we used to be more like 150 users, and total users has almost hit 2,000, where I would think the old normal level was around 1,500.

I'm just waiting for some money ioi and I'll be buying a few games, music, and movies. I'm looking forward to some of the improvements you have planned when it becomes financially viable.

It depends what you mean by break even. We are already bringing in enough with banners to cover basic server costs and so on but obviously we are looking to expand and turn this into a business. I'd like to take people on full time to take the workload off myself and develop and manage new features and so on.

So we're not in danger of going anywhere but the more we grow and the more we try to do the more costly things will become (same is true of expanding our data sources).

My primary vision for the store though is to use it to help with some of our figures. As I've said before, if we could build the store up to a more representitive sample then it will certainly be useful for compiling our figures - more data is always better as long as you use it properly and understand where it comes from / how representitive it is / what marketshare you are looking at. Definitely a way into the future but if we were doing, say, a thousand games a week I think the trends would start to become pretty useful and representitive.

Oke, those are definitely different type of costs you're talking about, I was mainly talking about your current costs, but I understand you'll need to raise a lot more money in the future to turn it into a professional business. Do you want to become a real competitor to the likes of NPD and GFK some day, possibly tracking all kind of consumer goods, or do you have no plan to go beyond video game sales?

Wii Fit will be huge in Europe too.
In Paris there're Wii Fit ads everywhere. It will sell like hot cakes in Nintendo land (aka France).

So we don't have to fear you'll start to charge for your numbers ioi?

1st week in US will bu 1.2 million and 1.3 million in others.

Nintendo still doomed?
Feel free to add me on 3DS or Switch! (PM me if you do ^-^)

I'm thinking big launches and big legs, prehaps 1.2-1.7 million first week between regions, i reckon this game will sell over 10 million lifetime.

I'm a little suprised that some think the game will perform much better in the US - how come?

Nintendo said they will advertise this game more then any other, its already been on morning shows which must of cost alot, i bet right now they are making a deal with oprah to get it on her show, thats millions of soccer moms right there who watch that show and will do anything that lady says. 1million plus wiis with wii fitness, i can't even begin to imagine the numbers Nintendo will make with this game, then add in wii play and some other small games for the kids as these parents upgrade from their PS2's and GC's..

Wouldn't say it says anything, cept the store is working well. Good for that. Next time i'm planning to buy a game and don't have a coupon i'll consider going through Amazon.

Because he's from Europe.  I've noticed a number of people in Europe saying it will do a lot better in America due to America being fatties who are willing to throw money at any weight loss gimmic even if it doesn't work...

And a lot of American's saying it will be bigger in Europe because Europe is full of a bunch of casuals who use their videogame systems for nothign except karoke machines and soccer games.

Cant we all agree that itll sell like hotcakes everywhere?
