Forums - Nintendo - Wii Overlooked Game : Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection

I'll second radioioRobert's claim.

Pinball Hall of Fame:Williams collection is an excellent pinball simulator. The best I've ever seen in fact. If your 30+ and used to play pinball in the arcades this game will bring back some fond memories and enhance them because now you can finally 'beat' some of these buggers without wasting endless quarters!

My friend is a collector of pinball machines so he has both the originals of many of these in his garage as well of this game (on PSP). He says they are amazingly accurate including very realistic ball physics. They look and play like the real machines. (Especially on Wii)

If you're not into pinball, I don't think this game will convert you, but if you are, get this game. I purchased it for $24.95 as that's what it's selling for here in Canada at least.

@radioioRobert - Have you unlocked any special balls yet? I'm 1 task away on 3 machines but just havn't been able to unlock them- yet. If so, what are they like?

30+?! I'm under 30 and I own all the tables at my local arcade. Except Sopranos. That table is a buggy piece of crap.

I'm especially proud of my 5.4 billion record on Twilight Zone. The ball buy-in button was disabled, too.

The nice thing about pinball is that once you get good enough, you can play for three hours on a single credit.

Of course there's always exceptions.  I'm sure their quite a few in their twenties or teens who discovered pinball machines, but arcades were mostly full of video games for your generation.  Pinball machines were few and generally tucked off in a corner somewhere.  But welcome to the club!  Now go buy Pinball Hall of Fame.

OT: According to Next-gen PHoF:WC is on the Wii's top ten sellers list on Amazon (outselling Okami).  Good to see it getting some loving.

Well, radioioRobert, you've sold me on this game. Now, if you could kindly point me to a brick and mortar place that's also willing to sell it to me, then we're in business. In any case, thanks for the heads-up, I'll definitely pick it up if I find it.

My local Target had the game today. I didn't go there to buy anything, but dropped by the game section to check some prices. They had Pinball Hall of Fame for $13.98! I picked up a copy for myself and my brother while I was there. Still haven't tried it out yet, but that's about to change in a minute. I loved the PHoF on the Game Cube. :)

$13.98 is a great price, I'll pick up a copy for a friend tomorrow. His dad has an old Gorgar machine that he's had since it was new. He'll probably love to have it for his Wii.

I just looked up some pictures of the game and saw the "Funhouse" table. I didn't know it by name, but that was the table we had at our local pizza restaurant. I used to play that thing to DEATH. I had the #3 score.

This game has become a "must buy" for me.

My End of 2008 Hardware Predictions (console only):

Wii : 50 million

360: 28 million

PS3: 24 million

These predictions were made on January 3rd and won't be revised

I just got through giving it a test run, and it's as awesome as I thought it would be. Honestly, I wish I had a cd that just played ambient arcade and pinball noises to help me drift off to a peaceful sleep every morning. One thing that surprised me was that even the people standing around in the arcade look good, not just the pinball tables.

This game probably had a shoestring budget, but it sure doesn't play, look, or sound like it does. The people that worked on this game should get a nice bonus check for a job well done, then a flying hi-5 straight from the 80's!

I agree this is one of the best Pinball games I've played. The only problem I have is I wished the game was in HD. Even run the game in 16:9 (480p) is an improvement vs 4:3.
My son first thought pinball was so boring but now he's playing Taxi trying to beat my high score. :)

So far I have a little over 12 million on Taxi and 22 million on Whirlwind. High scores anyone?

26 mill on Funhouse...
19 Mill on Whirlwind.....

26 mil for Funhouse is an impressive score. I suck at that one. (10 mil)

I also like the Wizard Goals but some of them is a real pain to win. Right now I trying to get the Pinbot "advance to the sun" goal but only reach been able to reach to Mars.

One thing I don't like about Pinbot is how often I loses balls through the left exit lane especially the fact the opening from the jet bumpers aims the ball toward the left exit lane. I lost count how many times a new ball goes straight toward the left exit without a chance to touch the ball. It really sucks when I do so well on the first ball then have to watch the next 2-3 balls goes straight out throught the left lane.

I recently got Williams Hall of Fame Pinball for the Wii for $18.96 at Wal*Mart (in Canada).

I looked there several times for it, and eventually found a pile of them in the bargain bin (amongst the MINI DESKTOP RACER's of the world...)
