What I think? its a mini USA with a nanny
Im living in south london which doesnt have a great reputation for youth crime (muggings etc) which is the main down point, but its got a lot better than it was, the chavs are just annoying but atleast you can just ignore them, the thing to worry about are the "rude boys" sounds like a pretty stupid name now that i think about it, but theyr behind a major part of the youth crime in london.
But apart from that everything is great here, good free healthcare, good educational system (in my school anyway) brilliant music scene, theres a mass of underground talent just waiting to be exploited, good food if you avoid the weird stuff, great wildlife as your never more than a mile from a nice park or green of some sort, and wallace and grommit!!!

it is true. I know a girl from london who actually hides her accent and has taken on an american accent (which I'm sure is hard to do) because she was getting too many "ooo thats so sexy" comments. And I see my friends going crazy over any guy with the accent, even if hes old and ugly. Its bizarre. |
I had a friend who dated a brittish girl. The problem he had was that he was really good with impressions, one of which was a brittish one. So whenever he was eating dinner with her parents he would unknowingly slip into the brittish accent.

Hmm not like rebels that sounds a bit negative... It is not negative in my opinion :). |
Well of course they don't want to convert to the euro. It would hurt their economic standing currently. They'll wait and join in when it suits them.
I had mostly positive thoughts about england... but after reading this thread... eh....

3, 4 and 5 are unfair in my opinion.
3) This is happening all over the world. It's actually quite a bit of a global crisis Rice is one of the hardest hit foods, and rice is what poor people eat to survive in most countries.
4) To my knowledge English house prices have been in a rapid decline the last 5-8 months. Prices are still higher then they were a few years ago. However currently said prices are dropping back down due to the credit problems that have mostly hit the US but also hit europe a bit.
5) That's going to happen. You aren't going to be able to keep things people want away from the people who want them. The west would be better regulating the drug trade rather then trying to stop it and better educating people on just how destructive the stuff is.
Though I imagine england would be worried about the reverse of what they did to China happening.
It's kinda funny though, things are reversed. Instead of the mighty self sufficient Chinese Empire, it's the British, US and other countries that really don't have much they want from third worlders... other then drugs.

I'm sorry, but Cornwall wasn't country last time I checked.
And the UK sucks. It's still better than anywhere else though.
