it is true. I know a girl from london who actually hides her accent and has taken on an american accent (which I'm sure is hard to do) because she was getting too many "ooo thats so sexy" comments.

And I see my friends going crazy over any guy with the accent, even if hes old and ugly. Its bizarre.

 I had a friend who dated a brittish girl.  The problem he had was that he was really good with impressions, one of which was a brittish one.  So whenever he was eating dinner with her parents he would unknowingly slip into the brittish accent.
