People who claim we have a falling standard of education are misinformed (Probably by the daily mail/express) , our education system is good, and you shouldn't be so quick to judge other countries as "better"

Hi, i'm solojohlo and i'm pretty fucking awesome

What a drag. I don't fancy Australia or New Zealand as it would take too long to travel if I wanted to pop home to my family. The US is a reasonable distance in my opinion (9 hours to Florida), and I love the country. I really wish I was American instead of English, don't you.

p.s. 'Mistershine', i believe there is Binge Drinking in America, just not as widespread or concerning as it is in the UK.

The good things about the UK are;

1. Great Authors (JK Rowling, Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens, etc)
2. Fine Architecture (Big Ben, St Paul's Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle)
3. Fish & Chips
4. Sport (we invented football/soccer)

From a Swedish perspective here, the media picture of U.K is usually quite positive. Tony Blair got big respect despite his strong pro-Iraqi war stand (maybe because he seemed so honest in believing there really were Wpns of mass destr, unlike Bush and co). The UK has stong integrity despite it's ties to the USA. London is portrayed as the financial hub of Europe despite the lack of Euro. The negative things we hear are the increasing Islamization of the UK (crazy Imams, terrorists), race-related riots and youth-problems such as drug-use, street violence and bad attitude of English youth abroad. Also, the British press is infamous for being very unfair and nasty.

Swedes like and respect the British people A LOT, the mentality & manners (similar to Swedish), the humour, the culture such as Brit-pop, the pubs, English football team, London as a tourist attraction, all the BBC-documents that are shown here, British "higher culture" such as music, litterature, theatre and film, British history.

Personally I have high respect for the UK as a nation, it's people and of course it's amazing history. The only bad thing is that you're not into heavy metal like the rest of Europe, despite being it's motherland.

Oh, another really bad thing. Scotland is still under occupation.

6 The 2 main political parties are both as bad as each other

7 No decent party has any chance of being elected as the general population are stupid and read drivel like the spun and the daily fail

IMO, Since Gordon Brown has become PM, the whole country has fallen apart, Prices have risen by far and people are finding it hard to fuel their cars. We have a rising crime rate.
I hope the Truckers block the Petrol Stations off... Then maybe things will be abit easier.
