ikilledkenny said: It's silly to think that GTA4 will sell better on PS3. The bulk of the series' sales have come in America, where 360 reigns king. The 360 is cheaper, and Microsoft (if they're smart) will advertise DLC and multiplayer over Live all they can. |
Multiplayer I think will be a weak argument for advertising considering people need a Microsoft subscription to even use the multiplayer at all, while on the PS3 this is free and may turn up more advanced in combination with Home integration.
We have never seen future extra DLC be heavily advertised prior to or upon release of a game before (basically it would be like proclaiming the game is incomplete, certainly if you would make a big issue out of this or claim this to be crucial instead of just being some optional extras, but initial reports claim the contrary, big solo campaign and extensive multiplayer, I think Rockstar first and foremost wants this be the message), at most a few mentions in interviews so far.
It would also help if anyone would actually know more about these 'episodes' they are planning for download and what the actual costs would be. At least until they have actually something to show I don't expect mass advertising, likewise with regard to Home integration or possible exclusive DLC for the PS3.
