Well that was fast, game gets announced and 1 week later a demo. Some people are saying it's a downloadable game...

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

More info from the famitsu article:

-Actually.... I think one of the goals they are trying to achieve with the foreign characters is to show how westerners would react in a culture foreign to their own, in a survival horror setting. In other words, adding a new perspective to Japanese horror. It goes on to say how the new gaijin characters will be scenarios where they interact with the original Japanese cast.

-Much of the episodes and scenarios will be different from the first game, as well as the flow of the game.

-Sight Jack system will now be adjusted so it doesn't interfere with the flow of the gameplay now, but further details were not given.

-Shibitos will be faster, more aggressive, and will have new variations of movement, such as destroying through obstacles to attack you. So basically, the game is now much harder compared to the first game if you choose to not use any weapons.

-Basically I think the only thing that will be the same as Siren 1 is the setting, and the original cast.

Nintendo & Sony supporter:

 Consoles: Wii & PS3.

Sweet, I loves me some survival horrors. I need to go try out the first one. I have been meaning to for awhile, so this should help me take the plunge.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Nice. I love survival horror games. :)

Might pick it up if the reviews are decent and depending on when/if it comes over stateside. I'm fairly wussy when it comes to horror films and such, so it may be good for me to turn out the lights, play this game, and just scare the shit out of myself.

...

My friend has the first one and I found it a bit hard to get into.

Wow.  It's hitting this year.

*adds it to the '08 list instead of the '09 list*

Hm, I need a screenshot.

I might pick it up if it's any good!
