I'm sorry I don't see GTA4 selling 4mil on 360 and 2.67mil on Ps3 in week one. That would mean Week 2 sales would be approx. 1.08mil 360 and 721k ps3. With week 3 being 573k 360 and 383k Ps3. With week 4 sales approx. 470k on 360 and 315k on ps3

for a grand total of 10mil units in its first month.... thats 2/3rd of the GTA fan base buying the game in it's first month... that would also mean it would hit 1/3 of the user base for the systems... doubtful

 impressive number crunching.

I do believe anything is possible though, and GTA could definately break the revenue sales record. 

Halo 3 really raised 300 mil? In the article they actually say

They said they expected 6m not 7m. Games are more expensive in Europe than America. They probably mean sold to retailers too, so it's not impossible IMO.

Whatever the actual amount there is no doubt that it is going to sell a lot!

GTA multiplatform > Halo3 in Europe in my opinion so based on the combined userbase of 360 and PS3 being much larger than that of the 360 on Halo3's launching week I see GTA4 hitting 1-2m in Europe alone in its first 7 days at retail.

I'm not sure about the USA but surely it should be hitting atleast 2-2.5m first week based on:

- Halo3 hitting 2.8m last year
- GTA4 being by far and away the biggest "blockbuster" 360 / PS3 game of the year so far
- San Andreas hitting 2.2m in its first week in USA and I believe there is more hype for GTA4

These estimates would put GTA around 3-4.5m first week, its the type of game that you want to buy immediately so you can discuss it with your mates, you dont hear your mates talking about it before you own it!

i think they will oustsel halo3 but not the first weeks

@BKK: I think they meant sold. Microsoft press releases after Halo 3 launch also were talking about sales.
And if it was shipped than would it be possible to came up with 60$ per game? Games sold to retail at much lower cost. And Halo 3 sold most in NA sa European higher prices wouldn't help as much. And I don't think it would be alright to take the number of units sold to retail and than multiplay it by customer price.

Yeah, but they don't really know straight away exactly how much the game sold to consumers so just multiply what they sold to retailers by the recommended retail price. Then put out a press release saying game x sold $xxxm. It's misleading, but that's PR.

 or maybe it's not  7 days on VGcharts for the first week as halo 3 wasn't released the first day of the week
