the ds is a behemoth. i love the fact that its the system for rpg lovers such as i. man i just cant get enough of DQIV and look forward to V, VI, and IX. Lets not forget about the FFIV remake and the inevitable V and IV remake as well. Maybe, just maybe, we'll see a chrono trigger remake on this little juggernaut as well.

Nintendo DS I expect to break the 120-million mark before Nintendo introduces another handheld. However I think they have another handheld under development and ready to go for when Nintendo is satisfied with its installed base. Don't forget the GBA is still selling that is a testament to Nintendo's capabilities.
My bet is a new Nintendo handheld will be introduced right ahead of Nintendo's next generation console. I would say my best bet would be 2010 release with a 2009 unvieling. This year I think we might see yet another model of the DS a sleeker new model to help boost sales one last time like Nintendo did with the Micro!

The DS is relatively weak in NA. If it explodes there to the same extent that it has in Japan and Europe, it will easily surpass 150 million.
I wonder what DS still has left in order to explode to 150 million units. A remodel? A new genre of games like when Nintendo started the Brain Age genre?

I wonder, too. All big 1st party games are out of the gate, there are no big announcements. But it keeps selling very well (hardware and software), except for Japan - hard to tell if the Japanese market is DSaturated, or if they are waiting for Nintendo's next big coup on the DS. Some new 'touch generations' game, a WiiFit connectivity game, New Super Mario Bros 2? I'm pretty sure that Nintendo is preparing something new for the DS; once the DS really starts to decline, they will announce it.
Currently playing: NSMB (Wii)
