" Launching on May 19 in the US, Wii Fit will retail for US $89.99. With the crappy dollar exchange rate, that's about the same as it costs in Japan, where it's priced at ¥8,800. There's more! The first 1,000 folks in the New York City area who pre-order Wii Fit with a $5 deposit at the Nintendo World store in Rockefeller Plaza have will get a limited edition Wii Fit with a reproduced Shigeru Miyamoto signature on it. That's right, if you are lucky, you too can wear a fake Miyamoto autograph. Hooray!"

Is that a little on the expensive side or what? I think it is, but that's just me. Though I doubt that it's really going to hurt sales.

About the same price as Guitar Hero so it the price seems fair.

Final* Word on Game Delays:

The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.

Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.

Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.

*naznatips is exempt

It is quite some money.

The Australian version costs $US135 ($US120 when you remove our tax).  You have NOTHING to whinge about.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

If GHIII could get close to 2.5 million (and it's still charting well so it should hit it) then WiiFit at the same price should do alright.

I mean we all know third parties don't sell as well on Wii right so it should obliterate GHIII!

It's the same price as Guitar Hero, right? Considering the balance board probably costs more to make than those "guitars", I don't think it's expensive.

I wouldn't buy it in Australian either.... Nor did I whine about it anyway.

Heh, that's actually a lot better than I thought it would be. Reggie saying it would be "under $100" got me thinking it would end up being the same issue as when he said the Wii would be "under $250" (aka $249.99, thanks Reggie).

It's still a very cheap piece of fitness equipment. Heck even with a Wii purchase it's a lot cheaper than many fitness machines and a lot more fun to boot.

Who cares if a bowflex would be better exercise? The best exercise is the one you actually stick too.

just preordered one from amazon and last week paid 5 deposit for another one from local toysrus. i wonder if there's multi-player games. if not, maybe i'll just resell the extra one or sell it to a friend who couldn't get hold of one.
