It doesn't have much competition below it though.

I can't believe that the 3rd party titles can't splatoon from making the list, so that's something

What happened to Splatoon? Is it not as big outside of Japan?

PS4 lead over PS3 aligned is huge. Xbox One lead going down rapidly and is going to fall far behind. Some change from last gen.

The Switch is so far trailing the PS4's 2015 performance by only about 4%, or 105k units, and is continuing to far surpass the 3DS (42.8% more units for the Jan.-Oct. period of Year 2). Not too shabby, considering the lack of a price cut or major hardware revision. Smash should provide a huge boost for December, and, if Japan is any indication, Pokemon Let's Go could help out in November (though on the downside the Switch doesn't have the best BF deals).

So basically the switch needs to sell at least 3M consoles in nov and dec and the PS4 needs to sell less than that for the switch to win. And don't you mean 2014?

It's super big in japan, so it's hard to look impressive anywhere else. I still think this is the first time out of the Switch's chart tho

Well it doesn't have to look impressive compared to Japan just compared to the other titles on the switch. It's being beaten by many titles I wouldn't have thought Splatoon 2 would sell less then.

Nope he means 2015, look at the graph, it includes 26 months for PS4 which is Nov 2013-Dec 2015.

And yes Switch needs so sell ~3 million in order to surpass PS4 2015.

Last year Switch did something like 2.5-2.6 million in the last quarter so 3+ million this year is certainly possible.

It doesn't need to sell 3~ million it need to sell literally 3.5 million (well 3.49m) based on your numbers. That half a million is significant.

I forgot to factor in Oct numbers, which are around ~260k so it needs ~3.23m in Nov+Dec to match PS4 2015. PS4 did ~3.12m in 2015.

1.3m in November, 2m in December. That should do it.

Makes 3.56m for this year's holiday quarter.

Ya that's about what I'm thinking for those months.

Unless the Switch has a megadeal for BF, I think less for November. December could be quite variable 1.8m-2.2m. Wii and DS managed over 2.3m in the same month at one point, so who knows what the Switch will bring.

The Black Friday deal is the same price but with Mario Kart bundled so not a mega deal but the combination of Pokemon+Smash/Pokemon/Mario Kart bundles should give it a nice boost over last year (750-800k), maybe not 1.3 million but I think 1+ million is definitely happening.
