Well, MKWII sold almost 500k in Japan alone. To hear that it is the highest debuting Nintendo title EVER in UK and the fact that it must have amassed MASSIVE numbers in Others is leading me to believe that it must have broke the 1 MIL barrier WEEK ONE!

Do you believe this is true?

MK Wii and GT5 Proloque will be the new million sellers this week :).

The Wii is Nintendo's first successful console in Europe! MKWii becoming the 8 th best launching game in the UK was SOOOOOOO.... unexpected and AMAZING!

Could anyone include the 7 games that launched better than MKWII? I want to know which ones. (though I bet one of the overhyped Halos are in those 7 for sure.)

I'd believe all 7 above are Ps2 games, as PS2 had a 10M install base in the UK (Wii has 2.5M and XB 2.3M).


Looking at good selling Others games, who might be front-loaded, GTA:SA, GT3, GTA:VC, and GT are all very likely. Pokemon Gold/silver might stand a shot.

ioi has said that Mario Kart Wii has sold in its first week 200k, but maybe he was refering to UK only.

ioi was referring to UK only, Charttrack announced that MK Wii sold between 175-225k in UK alone.
