Forums - Nintendo - BBC iplayer wii

A special channel was released last week which would allow Wii users to use the BBC's iPlayer on their Wii console via the Internet Channel. The BBC said a message would be sent to Wii owners to alert them to its availability. This appears to be for the United Kingdom only at present.

Ive read this on a few sites now but haven't found the channel available to my wii and yes i am in the UK. Has anyone else had this problem?

Around the Network

just go 2 the bbc iplayer site and it works on the wii.

Must admit I was mislead by some of the stories saying that there was going to be a BBCi Channel for the Wii.

But as dawve24 points out its just supports it. Goto http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ from the Internet Channel.

"If you have a Nintendo Wii, it's already connected to your TV, and now you can play BBC iPlayer programmes directly on your Wii."

"On your Wii, you'll first need to install the Internet Channel, which costs 500 Wii points, or approx. £3.50 (unfortunately there's no alternative to having to buy the Wii Internet Channel for BBC iPlayer web site access at this time - but later we hope to be able to get BBC iPlayer on Wii without this purchase being needed). After you've installed the Internet Channel, browse to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer, find your favourite programme, and hit Play. The programme should play immediately."
