New Nintendo DS To Feature Mii Integration With Wii

Boston (dbTechno) - Sources state that the new version of the Nintendo DS to be revealed at E3 2008 will feature Mii integration with the Nintendo Wii console, as well as other features.

It was reported on earlier today Nintendo is getting ready to unveil a brand new Nintendo DS at E3 2008 in July.

Sources are beginning to reveal further information in regards to what the new handheld could feature.

The most likely add-on will be Mii integratioin with the new Nintendo DS. This means that users will be able to create a Mii on the Wii or DS, and then have that Mii go back and forth between the two consoles.

This could allow Nintendo to create something along the lines of the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live where users can have their Mii act as their user name for online games via the Nintendo WiFi Connection.

We have already begun to see the Mii characters used in online games with Mario Kart Wii.

The Mii characters are also rumored to be involved in a new version of Pictochat, which will enable chat over a WiFi connection.

The new Nintendo DS and Wii may also be able to share messages of text, pictures, etc. Currently users can send messages from one Wii to another Wii. This could expand by sharing messages from the DS to the Wii.

Sounds good. But now I am going to have to wait till after E3 to pick up a DS :(

Did Aimes say it was software he was talking about, how the heck did people figure a new piece of hardware to be announced if he said line up.. since when was there a line up of new hardware... unless they are making 16 new peripherals (and a DS).

Hmm maybe. I do think however that all by now expect a new DS to be shown at E3 2008.

Now I can't wait till the E3.

wow the rumours are in full swing regarding the new DS - by using words like 'most likely' and 'may have' they could even write anything they like.

This jsut seems like somebodys guess work to me personally.

A new DS? Sure.

A DS2? Nope.
