Forums - Sony - I've caved in and picked up a Dualshock 3 - thoughts

I was personally sick of rumble after a few years into the PS2 generation and I still don't really miss it. I won't pick up a DualShock 3 unless one of my controllers breaks.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. I always liked the light weight of the Sixaxis.

And i seem to be the only person that has never had connection issues with a Sixaxis.

I actually still like the Sixaxis. I havnt got used to the Dualshock 3 yet but its still awesome

I rarely have full drops (the controller turning off, which has happened a few times over the last year), but I do get the 3-5 second inability to control in games maybe a few times a month. That's only bad when you are trying to get a high score in a game like Super Stardust HD, but I would like to know if the DS3 has the same effect. It might just be a bluetooth issue since I haven't had the same problems with instruments is Rock Band (guitar is wireless but not bluetooth). Edit: Oh, and I love that the Sixaxis is so light, but I also have the Logitech wireless PS2 controller so I'm use to heavy controllers as well.

I like the Sixaxis, but I missed my rumble. I got mine back on the 4th (? possibly), and have been using it ever since. It really adds a lot to the games (at least for me), especially Warhawk.

I mainly had connection issues with Folklore. They weren't detrimental or anything, but they definitely happened often enough for me to notice it.

I never had any either, nor with the DS 3

As well as aiding some PS3 games, it also helps those of us with backwards compatibility, as it was a standard feature then

Yeah, now that I think about it, it happens to me more like a few times a week if I'm playing almost every day.

It's worse for online games really. I'll be trying to fly around in Warhawk and everything locks up for 5 seconds and I'll be flying in circles until it reconnects.

Warhawk and Heavenly Sword are the two most predominant games where I've seen it happen.

I can't wait to get a DS3. I went to Best Buy on Sunday to get one but they hadn't gotten a shipment yet :(

Oh, and the only game that ever gives me trouble with the SIXAXIS dropping out is Resistance. I've never had a problem with Warhawk actually.
