From what I've seen i'm really interested in SMG, if its even half as good as i'm hoping it'll be right up there with SMB 3, world and 64

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

Galaxy is easily my most anticipated game of the year. Now that Spore is 2008 (or 2009, probably). Now as far as "the Wiimote will have some minor, but cool functions." Um... Minor functions? You play the whole game with the Wiimote. You use it to manipulate onscreen objects with the pointer throughout the game. That's going to freakin' make the game. It will profoundly affect the gameplay, basically allowing for the most original platforming puzzles since Mario 64, at least as much as the planetoid/gravity stuff will.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Sunshine was cool, made the GC seem kinda kiddy though. "Why don't you go play that Mario game where you have to fight dirt, lol. What a kid's console, I'm going to get back to GTA" :/ SM64 was a classic, and while SMG looks promising I really can't image it being more anticipated than Brawl. I mean, Mario games are fun but there just single player games with only decent replay value. Compare this to Brawl, with internet connectability, fully orchestrated music by 35 different well known composers, 3rd party characters from other systems (maybe even Miis), and infinite replay time. Melee was the best selling GC game, I can't imagine why Brawl won't sell equally as well.

While Mario is money in the bank, in regards to Nintendo getting into my wallet, I for one remain skeptical that it will meet or eclipse Mario 64. This could just be my nostalgia enfused youth speaking, as I remember traveling up to Toys R Us daily to wait in line to test Mario 64 and NiGHTS. While I love the fact that they are really expanding some ideas with Mario, that is the whole space angle, I'm still saddened they they haven't done a Mario 64-esque free roaming game through the entire Mushroom Kingdom.

I know what you mean. Somewhat related, I still can't belive they havent done an adventure  Pokemon game for a console. One that an actual Pokemon game, where you walked around just like in the gameboy versions but it would all be in 3D.

Heh, I wonder if that's a test of a classic, if you remember playing it before it was even out.  I remember playing Mario 64 at a kiosk at Blockbuster a month before it was released, and I remember playing F-Zero for the SNES in Software Etc. before the SNES was released.

Alex - To be clear, I wasn't complaining about Sunshine; I thought it was a great game, just not as great as SM64.  I got all 120 stars in SM64, but I couldn't be bothered to do the same in Sunshine.  I went after most of them, but several were simply too frustrating due to the touchy controls.

Eab- I've been saying it for awhile, Nintendo is really missing out in regards to a Pokemon' MMORPG. Entroper- Ah, how I wish. It seems demoing a game prior to it's release has changed vastly these days. Actual demo's tend to be shoddy and all the kiosks at Gamestop just don't have the same magic. Although it was fun playing Zelda the first time I got to demo the Wiimote in action. Still, it doesn't quite hit the glory days for me with Mario 64. It totally rocked my middle school's face off. Call me crazy, but I think anticipation is something this industry needs more of. I can't tell you how many games I've played that were destined for greatness only to be ruined due to being rushed. When will the masses learn that genuine art takes time?

I liked Super Mario Sunshine more than Super Mario 64. Way more. I don't know why everyone's complaining. Never-the-less, I really enjoyed Super Mario 64, like every single Mario game that exists, but I just liked Super Mario Sunshine more.

SAME HERE! Why everyone is complaining about Sunshine I simply don't understand. I bet it will happen again with Galaxy as well. Super Mario Sunshine was and still is a lot of fun to me, wandering around the place without doing a thing, teasing the citizens with my water spray and enjoying the view plus the sound of the game. I have no idea if Mario Galaxy will be the best Mario game, to be honest, as long as the game brings me a lot of fun which make me happy about the game I really don't care, if people generally think it's the best Mario game ever or not

From what I've seen I would simply adore the game and that cute, little plumber running around the field again in an adventure game where he belongs.
