Forums - Nintendo - Is No More Heroes really that short?

Twilight Princess: almost 90 hrs in 4 months
Mario Galaxy: around 50 hrs in 4 months (not finished yet)
No More Heroes: 18 hrs in 2 months (not finished yet).

I do tend to take my time with games and I play 1 hour per day.
Those above-mentioned games are huge for me.

It was not that short. It took me around 12 hours on the mild setting. I have an advice for you, do not start a new game on bitter. If you beat the game on bitter you will understand why. The challenge is insane, I got killed several times on stage 5 with all upgrades save for the last one on the Tsubaki MK 3. Just deflecting bullets will rape your sword gauge, it will go from fully charged to empty in less than 5 seconds. The enemies also time it so that as soon as one hit the other one hits you in less than 0.5 second. With a group bigger than 5 guys, you will take massive damage. I do not think you can beat the game without the infinite charge for Tsubaki. Another problem is money, the mission entry fee is higher and making money is harder. The last boss on bitter took around 125 charged strikes to die (1 charged strike is about 5 normal slashes). It took me 2 hours to kill the last boss (I avoided fighting him on mild and saved over on bitter).

Geeze twilight princess in a week, I just finished a 4 hour session, realized it was 5 am and have been going on and off for a month (though alot of off and technically I've had it for a year just didn't get around to playing it till recently). Can't wait to finish it though, because I have NiGHTS and RE4 (been waiting since December to open those up) and No More Heroes and Super Mario Galaxy waiting, as well as SSBB awaiting it's second run of gameplay.  After reading this I'll play No More Heroes first if it's that short but memorable.

Ok I did my part, I bought No More Heroes, but they were out of Zach and Wiki.

Ok got Zach and Wiki, now if I could just finally finish Twilight Princess so I can play all these Wii games I got waiting. And no I won't buy Okami.

DNF, now there is a game that should have been scrapped completely. Reminds me of a kid whose been in school for 12 years and still doesn't know what he wants to do. At one point you just need to man up and get a job.

i finished in about 11 hours its not that short

Wow Wii games are long. Damn also want. Heavenly sword and Uncharted were 8hours or so. Honestly that is too short for 60 bucks. 50h would be too much for me because I like a nice story ark without too much grinding or length (JRPGs are out of the question) but 15-20 hours like in Ratchet or Assassin's should be provided by a game.

In "bitter" mode you can unlock atorks of the game.
However Henry in bitter is tough to beat
This game remember me of Parodius, a truly clever and unique title this NMH

No it is REALLY short. I'd of felt somewhat ripped off if it wasn't supporting a small company and had a lot of great fun.

Replay value does seem real high, and i'll play through it until i unlock everything i bet... my friend and girlfirend also are planning to play through it at least once... so i'll get my money's worth out of it yet i'll imagine.

I beat it in under 10 hours... Like... between 8 and 9 if i remember right.

Though I saddly missed one of the wrestling mask cards which is just embarising considering how linear the game is.

I just picked up Killer 7.  Hope it's story is just as crazy... but i'll wait to play that.

Killer7's plot is almost incomprehensible. It's like a David Lynch film. I finished the game and though I enjoyed it, went to Wikipedia to see what the general consensus was on the overall plot.  As a Lynch-esque horror title, it's just amazing, but Suda51 is a big fan of "open to interpretation" plotlines.  Also, the final assassin to show up at the end (not Henry) in No More Heroes, the black guy in the white suit, is "actually" the main protagonist in Killer7.

I took around 15 or so hours on No More Heroes since I spent some time dicking around kicking open dumpsters and attempting the truly evil "do it without getting hit" side missions.  Destroyman was one of my favorite bosses, as were Jeane, Henry, and I had fun with Bad Girl.

Have you put the wii remote up to your ear? and heard sylvias message its kinda funny. If you didnt hear it then adjust your volume on your wii remote.

I think it's less a matter of NMH being a Wii game than it is about it being from a relatively small developer.  I can only surmise that had NMH been on the 360/PS3 it would have been even shorter due to additional development costs, HD standards, and the like.

The real culprit is marginal cost for each additional hour of gameplay vs revenue.  Do you think Suda's folks would really be making that much more revenue (and thus profit) had the game been 1 hour longer?  2 hours longer?  10?

Sounds great, I knew about the guy at the end being in Killer 7.  Didn't know he was themain character.
