It looks like Nintendo is holding back supply and releasing a bunch every 2 or 3 weeks.
Whether this is in support of major game launches or the idea is to make sure that at least every few weeks, there's enough to send everywhere so that it's not just the people to show up at 6am or the resellers who get their hands on them on those weekends.
