Nice Crash 4 this month and THPS and Yakuza next. Good stuff!

Also loving Stray so far. Brilliant game.. maybe I'm a bit partial because cats lol. Feels like a game that Japan Studio would've made during their peak.

Ugh......we may be in for TLoUs Part I level of leaks prior to GoW: Ragnarok's release. Probably won't be as a big of a deal since we know what the game looks like and it's not a remake, but, I just hope there's no story related leaks.

There are pricks praying for leaks to spoil and damage GoW:R

From what we know Sony and MS are wanting manpower, so buying the CD portion even if they aren't that profitable at the moment they have talented people over there so with the right management (likely cutting all the higher ups that likely were allowed to stay when it was SE) it could be very worthy (and get Legacy of Kain sequel kkkk) if the purchase was useless I don't think they would have been bought even if for that "small" price.

I have to disagree here. If it was only about manpower they'd be picking up whoever they could. Sony isn't going to want a studio they have to essentially 'fix' to get onto the right track. It doesn't matter how talented some of the ppl at CD might be, or how valuable in the eyes of gamers some of their IPs might be, they've an underperforming studio.

Sony have disbanded their own underperforming studios, and even ended relationships with teams they'e worked with for years (supermassive, like 10 year relationship). Why would they buy one?

Some of that was 2 gen ago and some last gen. Things changed a lot, MS wasn't buying publishers at that time and they weren't even thinking about launching games on PC. Plus the IPs and sales of games from western SE were quite bigger than the studios they closed, about supermassive and quantic dream I believe there are stuff we didn't hear about that made they not buying those (in case of QD I suspect the sexual assault claim was it).

The only worthwhile IP is Tomb Raider. i'm pretty confident that Sony would've had zero intention to bring back LoK or DE. At the end of the day,  I don't think any SE western studio was proving their worth both in terms of critical and commercial success.

That said, if Sony had got CD etc, I do think there are a lot of positives to come from it. But I'd rather see Sony invest in studios like Haven, Housemarquee, and FireSprite: these are lot more exciting and offer interesting areas of growth for Sony.

But we'll see what Sony has next. I'd like to see them continue these singler devs, but if they go for a publisher like SE, then there'll be a lot to offer the PS ecosystem.

Don't disagree with anything you said. Was just saying that if they were to buy SE anyway to buy it whole.

PS5 Beta introduces 1440p support, Gamelists, and more

System software beta kicks off today for invited participants in select countries.
Since PS5 launched, we’ve been listening to your feedback and working every day to bring you more community-requested features. Today, we are rolling out a new PS5 system software beta that includes 1440p support, gamelists, and additional updates to enhance your gaming experiences and make connecting with friends easier on PS5.

While beta access is limited to invited participants in select countries*, our goal is to bring these updates to our global community later this year. If you’re selected to participate in the beta, you’ll receive an email invitation when it’s available to download today. As always, some features available during the beta phase may not make it into the final version or may see significant changes.

Here’s a look at some of the new features:

New Gameplay and Personalization Options
1440p HDMI Video Output
The PS5 beta introduces support for 1440p HDMI video output, enabling players to choose an additional visual setting on compatible PC monitors and TVs.**
If the game you’re playing supports 1440p rendering you can experience native 1440p output on your display.
Or, if you’re playing a game with a higher native resolution like 4K, then you may benefit from improved anti-aliasing through supersampling down to 1440p output.
You can check if your HDMI device is compatible by selecting “Test 1440p Output” under “Screen and Video” options within system settings.

Gamelists
In your Game Library you can now create gamelists, which make organizing your games even easier.
To start, go to the [Your Collection] tab and select [Create Gamelist]. Choose games to add to your gamelist, then decide what to name it.
You can have up to 15 gamelists and 100 games per gamelist. All games under the “Your Collection” tab of your Game Library can be added to a gamelist, including disc, digital and streaming titles.*** You can also add the same game to multiple gamelists.

Compare 3D Audio and Stereo Audio
You can now listen to and compare the difference between 3D and stereo audio on the same screen, and then choose your preferred setting.

Easier Access to In-progress Activities
When resuming a game, in-progress activities are often shown prominently at the top of the game hub to make it as easy and as fast as possible to get back to where you left off.

New Social Features
Request Share Screen
You can now request party members to start Share Screen to watch their gameplay. Go to the voice chat card, select the party member you want to send the request to, and then select [Request Share Screen].

Joinable Game Notification
When you join a party and a party member is playing a game you can join, you’ll now receive a notification. You can join the game directly from the notification.

View New Friends’ Profiles
When you accept a friend request in the [Received] list, you can now view your new friend’s profile in [Accepted Requests].
Send Stickers and Voice Messages in Game Base
In the Game Base card, you can now send stickers and voice messages to your groups.

We’re always grateful to our beta community for helping us take new console features for a spin. Thanks to all our players for your support and feedback!

Yeeeeeeeees!!!! Really excited to finally get 1440p support! I had to move my PS5 away from the entertainment center and onto my desk where my PC setup is since my daughter now walks and nearly knocked over my PS5 several times but my monitor tops out at 1440p. Been playing at 1080p for a while now. So I'll definitely be one of those that this system update benefits greatly!

Sony dropping a ton of news this week before their financial report.

A lot has been said about how anti consumer Sony has been this generation, but they have shown many instances where they listened and responded to fan feedback, such as the HFW upgrade fee, launching Destruction All Stars on PS+, and now with 1440P support for the PS5.

I knew about Matter, the Destiny competitive game, and the mobile Destiny game, but I was unaware as to how much Bungie is working on lol. That $3.6 billion price tag may be making much more sense.

Woop! Same. Been waiting for this since near enough launch. My 1440P monitor can downscale from 4K but it adds input lag. This eliminates that and allows for 120hz and most probably 40hz (120hz) in fidelity mode in a few select games.

And yeah you're in for a treat, native 1440P support is hugely improved over 1080P. Can't wait for this..
