Forums - Nintendo - VC Neo Geo Problem (World Heroes)

So I downloaded my first Neo Geo game on the VC and there's this weird problem that whenever it changes the signal when it's about to start, the screen moves upward, leaving part of the game screen out. Basically, unplayable. This only happens with the Neo Geo game, all the other VC stuff works fine. Good thing I only bought this one cause I was eyeing 3. Anyone else with this problem or know of solutions? Thanks in advance.

Are you using a CRT or digital display? I'm asking because if it's a CRT (tube tv) it could just be overscan.

It's an HD television, flatscreen.

I used to have display problems with 16-bit VC games. Not positioning problems, but color issues. Almost every pixel showed as black.

Apparently some HDTVs don't like to display VC games if the signal comes from composite cables. It's strange, but component cables cleared the issue up completely. Are you using component? It might do the trick.

nintendo seems to have issued a fix for this problem
Display problems while playing Virtual Console games

If you are experiencing display issues (dim, blank or half-blank screen, ghosted image, etc.) with a Virtual Console game while using the Component Video Cable, please read the following:

Some Virtual Console games default to displaying 240 lines of video. Some HDTVs are unable to display a signal with only 240 lines. Try the steps below to set the Wii to output 480 lines of video, which may solve the problem:

1. While on the Wii Channel Menu (main screen of the Wii), connect a Nunchuk to Wii Remote.
2. Select the NEOGEO Virtual Console game from the Wii menu, then select "Start" to begin the game.
3. When the game starts, press the Home button on the Wii Remote. (In many games, the music can be heard when the game starts.)
4. Select "Operations Manual" from the Home menu.
5. Press the Z + A + 2 Other Buttons simultaneously (the Z Button is on the Nunchuk). A sound will be heard if the button combination has been entered correctly.
6. Close the Home menu. The game should now display correctly. Note: You will not have to do this the next time you play, as the Wii console will remember these settings.

If the Virtual Console game is still not displaying properly, but all other games work fine, please call 1-800-255-3700 so that we may assist you further.

Apparently I had World Heroes 2 confused with World Heroes, my favorite characters aren't even in the game :(

Still not a bad game, though dry feeling compared to the second, hopefully they release that on VC as well.
