But that's was not what Chazore was saying. He said that Gabe isn't going to sell Valve to MS because he has voiced disagreements against MS in the past.

We know Gabe isn't going to sell to MS, my point is nothing is impossible. Stranger things have happened.

Chazore said:

Exactly.

Gabe has a well known and documented history of why he elft MS, why he still to this day disagrees with them, and why he even made Valve. All of what he has done has been based around his ideals and design, which doesn't at all point towards him suddenly giving that up to the company he left nearly 3 decades later.

I find the notion that "it's going to happen like it or not" is based on both willful desire and ignorance, rather than facts and reality that we can see before us.

Its also premature to just assume it wont happen. All I am saying is anything is possible weather people hate it or love it. The possibility is not impossible, just very unlikely.

Youw hole point is absically sumed up as

"it's gonna happen and I want it to happen and I know I'm right".

Seriously, listen to yourself with the "stranger things have happened", against a guy with a well documented history of not liking MS.

I think i made it clear that i dont care what happens even if it did.

Your issue which i am addressing is that you think it's impossible, and i am basically saying no its not.

Your point in a nutshell "its NOT gonna happen, and i DONT want it to happen and i know i'm right."

Sound familar?

I like how this thread is basically not about GitHub at all.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure Microsoft knows better than screwing it up, so I don't see myself moving away from GitHub at any point.

I think you do, because even at the end of that sentence you're basically going "yeah it will".

The thing is, whenever someone says "anything is possible", they tend to lean towards more "something is definitely going to happen", all without proving it.

See, on the one side, Gabe has once again, a well documented history of not liking MS these days vs no proof that he likes MS and spent years making a compnay like Valve and a client like Steam, all so he could give it up and give it to MS.

It is not

going

to

happen.

Please understand this.

Anything can technically happen, but if that is all what you're arguing, then... well duh.

The chances are still extremely unlikely not just because Gabe has expressed disagreements against Microsoft in the past, but also Valve's updated policies towards game publishing on Steam are too libertarian for Microsoft's tastes. Yes, I know that the link to Microsoft's tastes is not related to game publishing, but it is to show how the fundamental principles between Valve and Microsoft highly contrast with each other.

Despite all this documentation, you know he's likely to come back with another wording for "you never know".

Thank you, I don't have to, you said it for me. Now lets please move on from this debate. I am not here to tell you anything is possible, you already know this.
