As for the Ubisoft event, they actually have a new game for Switch that isn't a mobile port, hooray!? Still no Assassin's Creed though which even the Wii U got. As for Starfox in Starlink, that's cool but a better announcement woulda been dropping the toys to life excuse to make the game overly expensive.

So now it seems any major 3rd party stuff for Switch would have to come from the Nintendo direct. Needless to say I doubt we'll get anything beyond what was leaked. Definitely getting an Ubisoft rep in Smash though.

Best Buy had a retail listing for the newly announced Wolfenstein game for Switch - personally I hope that and Doom Eternal are confirmed for Switch. Starlink does look good, but like you I'm put off by the toys to life focus. I suspect Nintendo's major third party announcement - Fortnite - is already out in the wild. We might have to wait until later this year for anything else; I think third parties still have their pants down when it comes to throwing more support behind Switch.

At this point unless Ubisoft are willing to do an exclusive Assassin's Creed, we're not seeing that franchise hit Switch.

Well, iirc they did mention something about not needing the toys last E3.  Hopefully this is further clarified.

As for Assassin's Creed, yeah I have a hard time envisioning the last two running on Switch.  Syndicate and earlier perhaps, but Origins and Odyssey look very taxing.

How am I overreactive? You threw out words like crying and spoiled child which would only provoke a response. I stated a fact about how Sony started strong this gen, basically on a promise of great games. I am talking from a business perspective not my own personal taste in Nintendo games.

We already know whats coming in the short term from Nintendo. That is also to be expected and not really a big surprise as games liek Smash, Mario Tennis etc come every generation. To sell hardware to non Nintendo fans they need to show a strong future. If I am a regular joe citizen looking at what's coming, Nintendo's console is not very attractive as an impulse buy.

The Switch may have started strong because of the Nintendo fans, but so did the Wii. A bright future keeps momentum in sales.  At one stage Wii was pacing to get to 150 million, there was no bright future after a few years so momentum died.

If the Switch is set to sell 100 million as apparently that's how many Nintendo fans there are based on your silly Wii comment (Wii brought in a lot of non-gamers/casuals through motion controls and the Wii series), why do they even need to sell to non Nintendo fans? Course the Wii stopped seling not because games weren't announced years in advance, but because there were no more games as Nintendo had to prepare for 3DS n Wii U. Believing the Switch or any Nintendo system only sells to Nintendo fans because the known future extends to a year rather than 2+ is beyond silly. I could just as easily say the PS4 is only selling to Sony fans who're willing to wait years for games, but again even if that were true who cares when the console sells like hotcakes.

When did I say there is a 100 million Nintendo fans? All i did was use Wii as an example how the console suddenly stalled in sales because the actual games stop coming. Casual helped get it to 100 million but Nintendo should have focused more on the actual gamers during the 3rd and 4th year of the consoles life instead of continuing with the Blue Ocean strategy.

The same will happen to Switch, once the small hardcore Nintendo base is exhausted if there is nothing enticing to a general gamer.

Also no the PS4 sold to gamers in general not just fans. Why do you think Xbox sales are down this gen? There is a portion of gamer who will flip sides if there is something they want, they have no loyalty to the console. Sony promised a lot at launch Xbox fucked it up, closed a few studios shortly after. Why do you think Microsoft are now expanding again. They realised they fucked up and you already got gamers being pleased that Microsoft are starting to take gaming somewhat seriously again.

Just like the GSW owner said when they won the NBA finals, you gotta dream big to achieve big. No need to play everything safe. Safe is the Nintendo hardcore fan, give them their generational releases and they will be happy. Add on top o that to capturea a few generation of kids and ensure they stay there before they grow up and PlayStation or Xbox start looking more enticing to own.

You said Nintendo can only sell to non-fans by announcing games 2+ years in advance. They didn't do that with the Wii, so according to your logic everyone who bought it is a Nintendo fan, hence my comment.

So what is the exact size of the small hardcore fanbase and by extension, what do you expect the Switch to sell before it falls off a cliff? How much does it need to sell before you stop pretending to know the preferences and gaming habits of millions of people you've never met?

I can just say Microsoft fans became Sony fans then.

Honestly, taking a better look at Starlink now(kind of thanks to Star Fox), and it looks to be a much better and deeper game than when it was initially revealed.

Plus,l could the Arwing used in this game be the same used in the rumored Grand Prix game?In another words Nintendo lended the assets to Ubisoft?

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Wheres the big Splatoon news?

Pocky Lover Boy!

Honestly they are really hyping the rabbids DLC and it took a big part of the show so seeing that and the huge success (probably well passed the 2 millions with digital by now) i think we can expect a bigger exclusive and a better support from Ubisoft starting 2019. It was expexted that it wouldn't be right away coming from the U but i think we might get a Rayman game only on Switch.
