lol never !beat them to a pulp ! I never encounter the "pity smash" in stock matches yet only on time matches a couple times my brother appeared with it during a 10min session.

You must have been doing pretty badly.

lol i have never had a pity smash, but i have made other players get them

now i know i was like wtf how come these ppl always start off with final smashes and i never do ...smh

the ONLY way to turn pity smashes off is NOT to put items on NONE but to turn the ITEM smash ball off completely..and THEN change the appearance to none..as long as smash ball stays ON pity smashes WILL happen

i never had that happen to me, I only play stock

it happens in stock too, but it depends how much stock...I think killing someone within a certain time limit a certain amount of times triggers it..like 3 lives in a minute

Never happened to me before.

I think it depends on the number of KO you made during your 3 lives lost. If you made 0 KO during that time, I believe you get the "Pity Smash Ball."

I'm saying this because it happened to a couple of guys online. They were doing nothing, and after 3 falls, they got it, so I'm assuming that's how it works (and you have to have the Smash Ball item on, like other people here said).

yeah...so putting Item appearances on 'none' will not help at all if the item itself isn't turned off, then pity smashes will happen regradless
