Forums - Nintendo - Yay! I beat Metroid NES (on the VC)!

Wow good job. Yeah metroid is pretty difficult. The new games seem too easy for me.

wow, I'm impressed. Most whippersnapper kids these days certainly wouldn't have the patience or gumption to beat a difficult oldschool game like that.

You have my respect as a gamer, Soriku.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Good job, Metroid is an excellent game that has definitely withstood the test of time.

And for a shooter, (genre I don't like) this game is amazing. Don't plan to play it again, though.

It's not a shooter.  Gradius is a shooter.  Metroid is Action/Platformer.

I loved Metroid when I was 3. I hate it now. I have no idea why. I mean, I respect it and love the sequels, but it hurts me to play through the original again. I tried it about 2 years back and went all the way through. It was bad, but not 1% as bad as playing through the original Dragon Warrior all over again. I fucking hate slimes now.

I still love the music, and still love the Game Boy and SNES sequels though.

Congrats, from a grumpy old dinosaur.

You beated it?! Now you forced me to pick it up again to beat it. (Goes and beat Super Mario Bros in shame)

Think twice before helping a friend in need.

@Soriku
The earlier Castlevania games(as in before SotN) is even more difficult than Metroid and this is coming from someone who has played Castlevania and Super Castlevania IV on VC and still has not beaten either of them

Only ever played Super Metroid, MP:3, and MP:2... How does the orignal's difficulty stand up to the difficulty of Super Metroid... (There doesn't seem to be too challenge to Super Metroid lol)

Guitar Hero 3/ Smash Hits

Nice Soriku. Having just beat Zelds II on VC, I know the supreme joy one feels when beating a truly hard, yet truly amazing NES game.

So what classic masterpiece are you going to tackle next?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

The Legend of Zelda rules so hard. If you don't have the world map, it's hell. I play it mostly from memory today. If I'd never played it before, I'd have no idea what to do.

It's like the first Metroid in that it's just insane amounts of exploring, but you get the items in the order you need them, so that's a nice clue at some points.

Good luck.
