Well, the rumour specifically mentions Pokemon Switch but as is the case with rumours, i guess that could just be conjecture from Gamerant.

Oops I didnt see the link, just the title of this thread so there wasn't mention of Switch.  My bad xD

NP. Looks like the rumour was wrong anyway.

HD models of all 800+ Pokémon were already in the files of Sun/Moon. They're ready.

Are they? As of this job listing, circa December 2017, it looked like they were still in development:

http://www.gamerevolution.com/news/360703-job-listing-hints-pokemon-switch-using-unreal-engine-4

There are screenshots of an Unreal 4 HD Pikachu model model being worked on, which were seemingly recent as of the time of the job posting.

Of course that listing is for Creature's Inc. not Gamefreak, so it could be another Pokemon game in development for Switch, though Creatures could be helping Gamefreak since this is the first HD Pokemon game, which would mean alot of extra work, too much for a small studio like Gamefreak possibly, especially since part of the studio was busy with Sun and Moon and Ultra Sun and Moon until 2017.

1. The pictures were confirmed fake ages ago;

2. The 3D models for all Pokémon are all HD-ready, that doesn't mean they don't need reworking, depending on the artstyle, shading and other stuff they might all be changed slightly. Plus it's not like a new Gen will come with no new pokémon, there's plenty of stuff to model in a new game.

People seem to not understand the situation with Pokémon: GameFreak is a well sized development team, they had 80+ employees before going trough hiring in the past few years so it's likely the size has now reached 100 individuals, aditionally the 80+ people used to work on two projects at a time, while now we know that USUM was made by a small portion of the whole team (Ohmori did all the Trials by himself). In addition to that Creatures Inc. is often involved with development of mainline Pokémon games and, since they know the struggle of moving to HD development, it's possible even Nintendo employees are currently working on the game

If there is a Direct. It’ll probably cover Pokemon Go, Pokken Update, announce the 807th Pokemon (forget its name. Starts with a Z), and then give a vague idea of when the Switch games will come out.

Yes, this is a Pokemon Go Direct...I'll keep telling myself that. If it's a Pokemon Direct...

The one thing that hypes me to the max, but m privacy no direct :(

Really hope they will announce the time first, and not drop the bombshell like with the Direct Mini

Would make sense, but I hope the game isn't rushed to come out during the holidays. I would rather have a good game releasing in Q1/Q2 of 2019 instead.

I also don't think this is gen 8 since it would need way longer to make new Pokemons, new towns etc but with it being the first HD pkmn game..

They already had all the HD Pokémon model files in S/M. Btw, B2/W2 released in 2012, and X/Y (the first 3D games) released in 2013.

Well alright but still X/Y is incredibly short and unpolished. Don't think this is a good example since its one of the worst gen and game of the franchise.

Short? According to howlongtobeat.com, X/Y takes 32 hours to complete the main story. That's the same length as Sun/Moon, longer than Red/Blue (26 Hours), longer than Gold/Silver (30 Hours), and a shorter than Ruby/Sapphire (35 Hours), Diamond/Pearl (41.5 Hours) and Black/White (32.5 Hours). It's an average length for a Pokémon game.

Unpolished? One of the worst gens/games in the franchise? That's your opinion. I actually quite like X/Y. The critics seem to like it too, as you can see by the Metascore. X/Y have 87/88 on Metacritic. Sun/Moon have 87/87. Black/White have 87/87. Diamond/Pearl have 85/85. Ruby has 82.
