Forums - General - Siblings that you've never met?

Hey guys. So, at the age of 4 my parents divorced, and the result was that both of my parents lived in different countries, my father in the United States, and my mother in Canada (with my brother and I living in Canada with our mother). However, my father had another daughter with his new girlfriend, whom I only saw once before they moved to Arizona. While in Arizona they had a son. However, they ended up losing custody of the children and both committed suicide, first my dad's girlfriend and then later my dad. So, I now have two younger siblings living in Arizona and essentially no way of contacting them or finding out how they're doing. So, I don't even know whether or not they're still living, or whether or not they are still in Arizona if they are. Do any of you have a similar situation in that you have siblings that you've never met? I never met my younger brother.

Not that I know of.

But that's a heavy story though. I can imagine you'd be at least curious about them.

Does your brother in Arizona happen to be 17 years old?

VGPolyglot :

Best of luck, hope you find them, or even just let them know they have family.
I can imagine as a kid, being taken from your family, and then learning lateron your mom & dad commited suecide because of it, would do hell on a kids mental state.

Knowing you have family ties, could be a help.

Does your father have siblings in the United States the know about jus other kids?

Do they at least know they're names? If they share the same last name and you can get their first names you can probably track them down on social media.

They're probably too young for social media, they are at most like 10 years old.

Still worth giving it a try. Or you can try it a few years from now.

Yes I am in the same exact situation. I have many (don't even know how many) half brothers and sisters. At least 3 and maybe up to 5 or 6. 2 of them I met and they have to be at least 7 or 8 by now, but there has been no contact in years. And one of them could even be older than me, which is kind of a shock.
