Not far from it though. 85 is still a solid score for a jrpg that really has been trying to reinvent the wheel since the snes days/golden age of jrpgs PS1. What I'm extremely excited to see from this and Xenoblade X is a new system that merges numerous world aspects like castlebuilding, recruiting, crafting, etc into a seemless experience where working on one inherently boosts the others in a natural way.

Back to 86! A great thing being later reviews tend to be the harsher ones typically dropping the score. I still think an 85 is in the cards for the final score, but again it sits atop the original for now. Still an 88 on open critic.

The game has a lot of attention to detail and is so beautiful. Duty for every gamer, studio ghibli-fan and jrpg-player in my opinion.
