Fable 2 could actually be a contender in the innovation category. Fairly unique RPG drop-in, drop-out co-op, dog AI as a mini-map and gameplay tool, cash earned out of game, financial and experience earnings that co-op players can take back to their own game, and whatever else Molyneux comes up with.

LBP will be innovative, but it's not like the ideas it's using haven't been explored before (if not as deeply as LBP tries too). Take UT3 and Halo 3's forge for example.

 


I couldn't take your post seriously after that. Just so you know fallout 3 has a dog helper as well and mgs4 has the mk II which is essentially a dog companion if you will. I guess those two games or features dont matter because they are not exclusive to the 360. Then you had to compare LBP to the forge. I think its time you take your fanboy glasses off and pull your head from your ass. Seriously.


Fallout 3 isn't out yet kiddo.  Furthermore, what they are doing with the dog in that is NOTHING like what Molyneux is doing.  And although I know next to nothing about MGS4, I'm pretty sure if I check, the mk II will be nothing like what Molyneux is doing either.

In Forge, you build levels.  In LBP, you build levels.  How can you be a good Sony fanboy without even being aware of one of Sony's major new IP's features?

As for the rest of your post, PDZ was a launch game.  It scored slightly less than Resistance on PS3.  You believe Resistance 2 will be a good game, but don't believe another Perfect Dark could be?

As for Banjo Kazooie, it is being developed by the series' ORIGINAL team, whereas PDZ wasn't.  The game's Executive Producer is the guy that invented Banjo Kazooie.

Don't you get tired of reading all threads in the sony discussion sub forum? I mean you don't even have any Sony consoles afaik, so it must be pretty boring to you (well the MS and Ninty sub-forums are pretty boring to me).

Resistance 2 will be a great game both in sales and reviews. Kill Zone 2 is a big question mark. K2 will sell but will it receive good review scores despite the earlier KZ games being average?

I will buy both games when I can afford it.

Not at all.  I enjoy all console gaming (and limited amounts of PC gaming), and therefore I enjoy discussing all console gaming.

Within the year I'll own all three next-gen consoles anyway.

Looking forward to both, both titles have me pumped. Resistance 2 has the edge for me though, as I want to preceed with the story! The small realtime cutscene looks amazing! I lived in San Francisco for a while, kickass setting for a mass chimera invasion!

lol, now that's a troll thread. Thanks for contributing to the conversion Starcraft. So what do you think is going to be better? R2 or KZ2? Oh, never-mind, I know you will just say GoW2 and that they both suck, so no need to respond :)

Actually I've always maintained that Resistence 2 will be a good title, despite my well-founded doubts over Killzone 2's quality.

Btw, your definition of what constitutes trolling is getting looser and looser.  But it seems to tighten right back up again when your turn to post comes along.......

Do you genuinely believe that the battle for Game of the Year will be fought only between R2, K2 and MGS4?

Because unless thats what you are saying, then my post was entirely valid and on topic. 

 


I am saying this was a Sony thread, about two Sony games, with no mention of any other console. When the guy was talking about game of the year, he could have been meaning "between PS3 exclusives, what one would have the best chance".

You post one line, with games that are all not on Sony's console, for the sole purpose of implying that a Sony exclusive is not the only game up for the title. Your post had nothing to do with the main point of this thread, and now well over half the posts in here are due to your comment. That's being a troll post.

I guess everybody meant PS3 GOTY instead of a general GOTY, lol!

In any case, I will be buying my PS3 around the launch of MGS4 (I graduate college on June 14th!) so there would be an interesting library of first-person shooters to look at.

From the early GAMEPLAY videos I have seen of Killzone 2, it seems to be really intense and amazing. The only compliant being the AI. No doubt the AI has improved over the last year, so it should turn out to be a really good FPS.

Although we haven't seen much of Resistance 2 (just the teaser video), we do know that Insomniac have a great record for producing top class games. Also 8 player co-op and 60 players online sounds like a lot of fun.

It is difficult to choose between them, but at the moment I am leaning towards Killzone 2.
