No idea why Beji still has that "sales insider" tag. Abdiel's info was way more useful. He went in depth on how each console sold. Beji just gives vague hints........ "possibility Switch could win" "XB1 starting pretty strong" .........useless data that tells us nothing. For February he said he wouldn't be surprised if XB1 won the month. Well? He also said "is there any reason why Switch won't win every month?" Well?????

His info doesn't match the outcome. Abdiel's did. And now because he bated Abdiel for December NPD and made a dumb comment about "bestbuy skews towards PS4" in turn making Abdiel's info regulated to......."well his data favors PS4 so i'm not going to pay too much attention to it. I'll wait for Beji's info"........Abdiel hasn't posted anything since.

Why would anyone want to update this messy thread? It's a shit show now. I feel really bad for the posters that put up a lot of time in to the updates. I hate what this thread has become.

I do think the poster that has been giving us the charts for some time was on something work related for a few days though. Let's see if he returns.

I swear to god this is the last time i reply to this kind of stuff, because even though it should be EASY to understand the point, you just don't get it and this is honestly very boring.

Benji has PART of the data NPD track, and for what i understand that's a TINY part, he give us what he can see, and he specific 82891981272 times this. His info CAN'T BE used for a full picture in the market, and he said that.

That said, so far, he has a very good track, as in November he stated that it Switch most likely would have not reached the million mark, Switch would win December, and February would have been third.

"But he said he would not be surprised if XB1 won" so? Do i seriusly need to explain this quote, omfg, alright, he just said that an XB1 victory would have not been that surprising for him, and he never said PS4 was gonna lose, he basically just said XB1 had a chance, but for god, he didn't even said his data showed a XB1 victory.

Ok here how this work, let's say NPD numbers are:

PS4 - 200
XB1 - 150
NSW - 100

And Benji has this:

PS4 - 50
XB1 - 48
NSW - 35

Since he has a tiny part of the market tracked, he CAN'T be sure if outside of that market he has the PS4 completely killed it or it bombed, so every times, even if his data show insane gaps like 2:1 or 3:1 he will ALWAYS say that nothing is sure, like in November where PS4 outsold Switch by over 2:1.

"So his data is usefull if he can't be sure of the results" yeah well then why the heck are you in an AMAZON thread!? Do you not understand Amazon work the SAME freaking way, as abdiel?

While he always say "don't get too much in my comment", what he say most of times is a good picture, because:

November was very similar with his data
December was very similar with his data
No comments were made in January
February was very similar with his data

For February, his data was only a bit off on the PS4/XB1 gap, as he said it didn't showed a good gap in PS4 favour, but was spot on on Switch so that was still not bad, expecially after 2 good months of tracking.

The point is, his data is what is it, is pretty easy to understand, and if you pretend it gives you the precise winner then idk what to tell you, Adbiel has been wrong just as much as Benji and no one was ever so aggressive with him.

I'm honestly done with all of this. If you understand good for you, if not, then that's it i won't boder again.

honestly he might have a bit of data but honestly its useless. why you say? well in november switch was destroyed in terms of sales, but he never hinted anything like that, if his data  can't tell if switch is gonna lose when its almost being out sold by 900k then whats the point? in december, his info said switch would win easily it won be less then 10%, in January he said it's obvious who would win, when switch got the win by a extremely small amount which no way in hell his data would have predicted accurately, in February switch got beat bad, he never hinted anything about that, imo his data is useless.  difference between Adbiel and benji, one claims to have sales info for best buy, while the other claims he has sales info for a huge part of the market.
