Do we have an idea of Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop respective market share for video game hardware sales ?

Maybe tracking the three websites together would give a better picture ?

That would certainly give a better picture.

Ok, after some research, I could find online video game best seller rankings for : - Amazon, - Best Buy, - Gamestop, - Target, - Walmart. Did I miss any ?

I will work on something to find a way to mix those together in order to have fun trying to predict NPD in the future (and most likely fail...lol).

I will ask again : Do we have any information about the respective size of those retailers as far as gaming goods are concerned ? Even without hard numbers, maybe people living in the US would have an idea ?

I did a trending recently for the Switch in the UK and it would suggest the Switch is being adopted while the PS4 is still very strong. I trended Amazon UK, Tesco and Game (Online Stores bestseller lists). The only one where the PS4 could be said to be beating the switch is at Game but even at Game, the switch has more bundles (about 22) while the PS4 has 17 but the PS4 bundles are mostly higher on the average on the bestseller lists than the Switch ones. Both Switch SKUs top the Tesco Direct bestseller list and the neon topped the Amazon bestseller list until recently when the PS4 overtook it (not checked yet to see if it regained its spot after Kirby released).

The console that is certainly not doing as well as the others in the UK at present is the Xbone but the bestseller lists would suggest its not doing too badly as well.

I would have to assume those 5 retailers make up the vast majority of gaming sales.

Highest Switch SKU on Amazon U.K. is at 35, highest PS4 SKU is at 40.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

So Amazon is possibly overstating Switch. If Abdiel still gave Bestbuy info, we would probably had some idea on who would win. Nobody expected PS4.

I wonder why he stopped posting his data. Hmmmmm.......

Formerly ilovegirls69  :(

Alright, this month was surely a surprise for Amazon, this was the worst case i ever seen for sure.

THAT said, i always said that Amazon overestimated Switch... Like, for real, you guys had to be blink for not noting that.

Regadless, i'm still surprised because this time was absolutely the worst case i ever seen, but yeah in general Amazon was never a good indicator for Switch... i'll just use it for PS4/XB1 at this point.

It could of been because of stock too. PS4 was out a few times in February. And seemed like it was out of stock with 3rd party sellers being shown on the main page. Like it is right now.

Gamestop has the largest percentage for NPD. Followed by Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, Toys R Us, and Amazon.

I might have some places wrong. Also, Amazon's percentage has gone up i think. Aqua mentioned this before.
