Looks like Pokemon might actually come out this year if they are posting jobs for localization editing since that probably means the game is mostly content complete already.

Nah, localization is a continuous effort once the first piece of content is made ... 

Plus the contract starts in between April and June with a minimum 6 month length so there's no guarantee if the game will come out this year since more time could be required on top of that for QA ... 

Love it how people think pkmn switch will be a full UE4 HD 3D Game. Its not. They will possibly take the S/M Engine and will use it again but in HD.
On the other hand everyone is shocked that its comming out so "early"..... Who of you people know the exact date of the dev. start? No one.

I just want gyms and a hard mode. That's all i need.

And maybe a story less kid friendly

They might actually be able to get it out this year. Though what are the chances of this being the D/P remakes? They've been teasing it for a while and I would imagine it have been in development for a while, having been started on 3DS and then moved over to Switch once they realized it was a success.

I kinda hope that could be the case because I want D/P HD and i'm not really ready for a new Pokemon gen yet.

Yeah I saw this on Resetera myself. I kind of was hoping that Pokemon would get the open world treatment but when if this game started Development in January when The Switch was announced, 2 years really doesn't seem like a long enough time to fully make that sort of game.

Well Nintendo from start was aiming holiday 2018. for Pokemon launch.

Looks like the initial European translations for Pokemon Switch are planned to be completed between April - June. They will the undergo localisation editing. Editors are being hired on a minimum 6 Month contract.
