No. The firmware updates onto the system itself and not the hardrive. I changed my HD and the newest firmware was still on it. It uses an internal storage which can not be accessed.

So bricking the system does not affect the cell?  Man that Cell is resiliant!

From a xbot stand point he may be right, 360 pathetic hardware could easily be corrupted and red ringed by a hacker. PS3 looks to be a far more quality design and a major pain to be hacked.

Nothing more them a MS cowardly pr answer to a much superior product.

I don't get why any of you take anything MS Sony Nintendo say seriously, they all got their company line to walk and that will never change.

Whoa what a war brewing between Xbox fans and PS3 fans. I am behind the idea to put mods in PS3 games. 360 has no mods and is already hacked and pirated games are readily available if you know where to look.
