I don't think Sony's engineers are stupid enough to have the firmware streamed directly from the internet... So I call bullshit on that "broken internet connection" claim. First it should download it, THEN install it.

I can understand if a power failure during an update causes a bricked console, but if a connection failure can do the same that's just plain stupid of whoever made the update system.

I am a .NET developer, and know MS's tools very well. They make great tools, they just don't do such a hot job of making tools with a small footprint.

The graphical capabilities of the 360 are awesome. I have always thought so, and never said otherwise.

Now, didn't you say you were going to post an article as to why someone should want a PS3? If your not a fanboy, that should be easy. Being I have yet to see it... I think that proves my point.

At that point you left the thread though I noted you were online for over an hour. I was actually awaiting a response. I'd never figured you for a quitter. Misguided sure, but..........

I fully intend to make that thread within the alloted timeframe of "a month or so."  In fact, as long as I do so within the next 28 days or so, I've now owned you. 

As for whether I could write a completely objective "Why you should want a PS3" thread?  Of course I couldn't, noone could.  On an issue such as console-ownership, there is no such thing as objective. 

 I didn't respond to that because I didn't think it needed one. tomorrow is also "over the next three weeks" You didn't say "In the weeks", you said sometime between today. and three weeks.

So, the funny thing is in your post to point out how you owned me because I did not respond to something you wrote, also has a confirmation from me about how you lied about saying I called the graphics of the 360 bad, when I never did.... and then you didn't respond to it.

 I could. I own all three. And like each of them for there strengths. It's why your a fanboy. Most people on this site realize I like each console, just my personal tastes, for what I use it for and fine important in a device, I like the PS3 the best.

You on the other hand, see me as a PS3 fanboy because I say nice things about it (criticizes it too), and criticize the 360 (I say nice things about it too).

Fair in your eyes, means slanted for the PS3 = 360 fanboy.

The funny thing is, I have recommended to people to buy a 360 more often then I have to buy a PS3. So, hard to call me a fanboy.

A quick question, now often have you recommended to people to get a PS3 instead of a 360?

Erm, due to an Opera CSS incompatability, I cannot currently read the first page. What I can gather though is that people are saying this error is coming from is a disconnection during an update.

That's just plain stupid, having to live with a WiFi connection during the first five months of owning a PS3, my PS3 disconnected from the web several times during update downloads, and not one (NOT ONE) broke my console.

I did, however, randomly get an error a few months ago, and I think it may have been this error (not sure as I do not know the specifics of this error). I just replaced my HDD and went on my merry way.

I've never heard of this problem and I pay pretty close attention to the reliability of all consoles. I've seen hundreds (or perhaps) thousands of reports of the 360 RROD from people who have no agenda (other than to get their Xbox back) and I've never seen one report of this.

There can be no denying that the Xbox 360 is the least reliable mainstream console in history, and quite possibly the least reliable piece of mainstream electronics in history.

The PS3, to constrast starkly, looks to be one of the higher quality main stream consoles in history.
