Forums - Sales - Is the PS3 in trouble ?

it ain't bigger than the 360 RROD. I experience the error and my PS3 works fine. The 360, on the other hand, is still in trouble.

If you think Microsoft was bad for denial of hardware problems just look at Sony, they still have never to this day admitted problems with the cd drive in the PS1 or the dvd drive in the PS2.

PS3 has 0% hardware failure. This thread fails.

@ Rock on 08 be reasonable, it's probably about 1-2%

Ahhh, the infamous comparison to Sony's console failures. Yea, their consoles suffered a 33%+ failure rate too.

Get real. RROD is a haunting legend. ps 1,2 problems were just an after thought that wasn't dreded every time you turned it on.

Well if it causes people to be unable to play their games then I think it's a problem.  I've seen far more PS1 and especially PS2 consoles where the drive had such problems that they won't load games than I've seen RROD.

sony is not in trouble.
But I do like this thread.
It shows that most people on this site is pro sony.

I hope it doesn't become a big problem for Sony.

That's because there's been much more PS1 and PS2 around. My PS2 gave out on me but it was 4-5 years after purchase and after a lot of play time nothing like Xbox360's problems.

Signature goes here!

I did do that google search, and the third page gives me this:

http://gamerevolver.com/article-114-PS3-Error-80010514-explained.html

It basically says that it's due to a hard drive failure. I guess that's to be expected. Hard Drives fail. Unless some company has some way of making one that doesn't, any device with one it it will get errors when they do.

This is a non-story.
