Brawl and Melee is how a smash game usually sells. 

On the N64 Smash Bros was a low budget game that wasn't even going to come out of Japan. It was up against the highest selling 3D Mario.
On Wii U and 3DS Smash bros was multi platform. This split the sales by a lot. 3D Mario was only one game and exclusive to their respective consoles. Smash Bros is usually always bigger then 3D Mario since the GC. 

The only anomaly here is that Smash 4 was multi platform.

smash and 3d mario are so close there no real proof of one selling better then the other on a game to game bases. smash maybe a multiplatofrm release but the difference  is massive in quality because of the hardware, the only way to compare is 3d land  and 3d world combined. it can go both ways, but with how early MO came out, and how well  it's been received, chances are huge that it will outsell the next smash, by a lot. mario galaxy would have also beat smash but it had a sequel so people had 2 choices for a 3d mario game. if there was only one 3d mario game that gen surely mario galaxy one would have sold enough to beat smash.

you see i'm tired of this.  mario galaxy sold 12.76 million, it would have beat smash easily but it's sequel was released 2 years later basically giving people 2 choices for a 3d mario platformer which has never happened before. stop getting your numbers from vgchartz when there official numbers out there. as for AC being perfect for switch, it's always been handheld  franchise, that never did big numbers on home consoles, unlike 3d mario it does insane numbers on both.

Excuses, backtracking and goalpost moving, that's you all over isn't it? Both 3d land and world were heavily bundled. Smash beats Mario 99% of the time, therefore  it sells better. I think Odyssey has raised the bar quite a bit for 3D Mario games though, so i will admit unless Smash is amazing, then it may have a shot of outselling Smash. However, if Odyssey is massive and sells 15m like a few are predicting and an excellent Smash comes out and does similar numbers, you know what that means? Both 3D Mario and Smash annihilating their sales records would point to a  highly successful Switch console topping out at least 100m making pretty every other point you've made everywhere about Switch both moot and plain wrong. 

lol please i was right about ps4 doubling switch sales in november, and i was right about xbox and ps4 beating switch in the holiadys, because of discounts, you were the one that was calling me names, saying switch would dominate the holidays, and you would have to be biased to think other wise. as for smash being bigger, on wiiu 3d mario sold more, on 3ds 3d mario sold more, and even on wii it would have sold more, if nintendo only release one 3d mario game but they didn't, sequel was released right away. you are the ones making numbers from your ass when you said a 3d mario never sold over 12 million.

Do your research properly! AC began on the N64 in Japan then on the GC in the west. Wild world came out on the DS and when City Folk came out for Wii people thought it was too similar to WW which is why it didn't sell so well. Nin then went back to the drawing board and produced New Leaf which has been hugely successful and has a shot to eventually catch and pass even the highest selling 3D Mario. With the Switch being a hybrid it is a best of both worlds for AC and again, if it is innovative and original it will, in turn be possibly the biggest selling AC ever.

I was going by the numbers on here. I had no idea they would be so out of sync. I notice you are moving the goalposts again. It's been explained to you that Smash 4 was a port, therefore hurting sales, possibly for both 3ds and Wii u versions. As for your predictions. The NPD was clearly what you HOPED would happen. Not sure you could take credit for any of your other predictions. All you did was to stalk the insiders and those in the know, then stealth change or flip flop your predictions and stealth change accordingly. That is not predicting. It's parroting those in the know, then trying to sneakily change your predictions when conflicting information comes in. You really shouldn't argue about stuff you know nothing about and a quick google search won't cut it.

I'll give you another chance to flip flop and possibly get yourself out of a hole. What are your predictions for LT for Odyssey, next Smash for Switch, Animal Crossing for Switch and by extension, Switch itself. This should be interesting. 

ok so you can use that excuse for smash being out sold on 3ds and wiiu, but i can't use mario galaxy being out sold by smash on wii because there was two 3d mario games that gen, and the sequel actually out only 2 years later. anyway smash, and 3d mario like i said before are too close in sales to call one bigger then the other on a game to game bases, but 3d mario has way more potential, and has way more games under it's belt with big sales, so it's a bigger franchise, this is a fact.

animal crossing 11 million i don't really know about his franchise , it has 6 games in 18 years and only 2 sold over 10 million.

At least you admit you know little about AC so that's a start. So basically you are predicting 18m for Odyssey, 11m for Smash and 16m for MK8D(?) 11m for Animal Crossing but yet no Switch prediction? So, going by your numbers with 2 franchises lowballed (imo), what would the Switch userbase numbers be for those sort of numbers do you think? You've personally made a mockery of your 50m  and all those lower predictions with those numbers. The previous highest selling 3D Mario game, Galaxy sold to roughly 12.5% of the userbase, so by that metric, Switch will sell 144m. So what's it to be?

EDIT. I see you stealth edited your post. Well, if Mario sells 20m then using a 12.5% attach rate then that equates to 160m. Interesting. At least 1 of your predictions coming true will see the Switch breaking records. It seems you have changed your tune, lol.
