Forums - Nintendo - IGN plays Force Unleashed on Wii - and LOVE it! Fans rejoice!

I was pretty skeptical about the Wii version when I heard Crome (makers of Barbie games) was making it as well as a PS2 version, but IGN finally got it's hands on the Wii version including duel mode, and it's shaping up to be pretty much what all the Star Wars & Wii fans have been hoping for (except no 1to1 lightsaber, but in a mega-force battle who has time for subtle lightsaber swings anyway?!)

I'm now totally psyched for this game!  September can't come soon enough!

I'm quite excited as well!

"¿Por qué justo a mí tenía que tocarme ser yo?"

Excellent. I wasn't holding much hope for this game being any good but I might have been wrong. Can't wait for it to come out now.

The success of this title on the Wii may determine the future of a 1 to 1 lightsaber game.

"¿Por qué justo a mí tenía que tocarme ser yo?"

Awesome. As you can see in the sig, I've been anticipating this game as well.

Awesome, but september? Why is IGN playing so soon? They should have waited so we don't hype all summer :)

Predictions for December 31st 2008:
Wii 38,000,000
DS 84,500,000
PS3 17,000,000
PSP 41,000,000
X360 23,000,000

It's stupid to want 1 to 1 saber fights in a game. You would have to be an expert to not be killed quickly.
I'm training with boken in my Aikido sessions, and with my low practice level, I could have killed anyone of the Jedi Knights in less than 5 seconds, to have an idea of how bad they are at fighting in the movies (and I mean in all 6 of them). The movies are modeled for a show, they show supposedly good fighters that, for example, take a stance for piercing, but actually swing, which is beyond stupid and suicidal (they would have lost their legs and hands then died quick if they were against me). So it impress people that don't know anything about using a sword, but that's about it.
A 1:1 saber combat won't even last 2 seconds most of the time in real life. Look at some chambara movies to know how quick someone proficient with a saber can kill you: it's a matter of tenth of seconds.

So really, in a game that is supposed to be fun, 1:1 saber combat, or any weapon of the same type, is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I've heard people ask for this since the Wii's launch, and always thought it was stupid, and the people asking for it actually don't know what they are asking for.
It would not be fun at all. There's a reason the games don't use that.
The same is true for tennis or anything actually. You don't have to master a sport to be good in a game, the goal is not to reproduce real life.

^What he said

The characters models on the battle mode looks awful : / , but i can see an improvement on the single player mode

thank god, the controls are great

do you think the wii version will sell the most?

I don't think so. The strongest market for this title will be NA, and 360 still leads in that market.

I think it will look like Guitar Hero sales: Strong on every platform, strongest on 360, but Wii will have the best legs. I don't think those legs will carry sales past 360, though.
