Captain America: The First Avenger.

A war time MCU film without Human Torch or Namor.

0/10

...I mean like what's the point?

Seriously though, the film is not the best. The CG is dated already first of all. Hugo can't go wrong in most of his roles and he as Red Skull is perfect plus Toby Jones in anything is good but other then that there isn't much here. Cap's ideals are there but that's about it.

Guy who plays Bucky can't act. Steve as thin a guy with Chris Evens head on looks really suspect. Dum Dum Duggan and Union Jack essentially being relegated to Cap's side characters. 'Space Nazis'. Peggy Carter suddenly fawning over Steve once he's ripped. Like all what?

Then here comes the problems with the bogging down. 'Tesseract'? The what? That's a bloody Cosmic Cube. Call it what it is. What do you mean it's not a Cosmic Cube? My fanboy mind is screaming at you right now.

Serious mark, 4/10 and this is a retrospective mark. I would have given it higher when it came out, over time, sadly, it's lost a lot of marks.

EDIT: I'll add, in terms of how love interests go for Cap, I'm always going to be bias in favour of Rachel. No Carter is as good as her.

Caught up after I watched Justice League again.
The Hulk 6.5/10

Will add a small review later. I love the new Hulk more than all before him. Still do not know if I want another Hulk movie, but cameos will help I feel. Dump the girl, love interest from the film. Not sure if we need any of that. Another Space adventure with him could be fun. Just throw him out there, trying to find his way home and needing the Hulk to help him meet new friends and complete his journey.

Hey Ryan, would you mind modifying your score to a 6 or a 7? We’re going with whole numbers.

Thanks! And looking forward to your review!

Starting Captain America. Have to get back to a Saturday viewing schedule. This was the last of the run I didn’t see in the theatre (until Ant-Man) and watched in a run-up to The Avengers. I always had a fondness for Captain America as a character. It just seemed comforting to have someone decked out in the Stars and Stripes and fighting for good old American values. We wouldn’t have won World War II without him (and Wonder Woman)! I remember (as had been the case with the last two filns) being let down. However I came to appreciate it more in subsequent viewings. For nothing else, it gave us Hayley Atwell as Agent Carter (who should be the Thirteenth Doctor!). Will write more after but probably not until tomorrow. See you on the other side!

Namor and Human Torch helped too. Many others as well if we go by the Invaders retcons.

Don’t forget the Justice League stopping Vandal Savage from changing history!

I saw him. Trapped in a case on display at some science fair. He's alive dag nammit, a living being.... kinda. He should have been fighting along side Cap defeating the Nazis.

I don't think you understand, he was fighting the Nazis.

Nah, This is what you get when you have the same artist drawing the same face on every character.

... Dang you Andy Kubert.
