Hey! Are you on board for the full rewatch? If so I’ll add you to the list :) |
I'm not sure if I'm gonna be in the mood to rewatch all of them with the amount of new things I usually watch and not being a huge superhero fan, I'm gonna try but I can't promise anything.

No problem! I will add you. Participate when you can!

Vulture then! 😉 I’m really just teasing Veknoid since he was just complaining about Iron Man 2. But I consider Hammer and Vanko to both be villains

Wouldn’t it be amazing if one of these superhero movies ended with the bad guy being led away in handcuffs by the authorities? No blue sky laser, no light show, no boxing match between juggernauts, etc. Iron Man is a smart, subversive take on the genre. It deserves a better final sequence. |
I would have appreciated if Tony Stark was framed by Stane for some made up murder and had his suit taken away. Stark would have had to take the lessons he learned throughout the movie and find a creative way to overcome Stane and prove his innocence. You could have had Tony Stark find a way to hack into his suit and destroy something he truly cared about. It's not a perfect premise.. but it would have been a million times better than what we got. I really don't know what they were thinking with that.

Most of us seem to agree that the ending left a lot to be desired. Once Pepper walks out with proof he was selling weapons to terrorists along with a government agent, that would appear to be the end game. Yet Stane seems to think he will be able to lead Stark Industries when he steals Tony’s mini arc reactor if he just kills Pepper. This really is where the films falters pretty heavily. Pepper walks out with Coulson(!) and Stane then has time to go down to the lab and check on his project and then drive out to Tony’s house. Wouldn’t Pepper have called him as soon as she left the office? I wonder in that last act was tacked on by a different writer. It makes no logical sense and just seemed to want to have an iron suit battle as the climax
Iron man is a great start to a series, was my no.1 for a long time as well, currently idk where i place it, it has a great and simple story, RDJ is fantastic and I love how the suit looks and also jeff bridges was great.
8.7/10

Awesome, thanks!
We’re going to stick to solid numbers for the scoring, so do you want to round down to 8 or up to 9?
I tried rewatching some movies but marvel movies are kind of boring to rewatch for me. The excitement is seeing the story move on to new places. Enjoy though.
