Though, Pachter is his old self here. Those numbers. 3M+ for PS4, with the XBO close behind? And Switch not too far behind that? Has he not looked at historical data? And a lower entry point is good for the XBO? Duh.

But just because a console wins on amazon, doesn't mean it will win in total sales across a country. That's always been the case.

Amazon has always got it right and that's been the case 99.9% of the time and only ONCE was that to do with people not taking preorders into consideration. To state 'that's ALWAYS been the case' is to show you've not been following Amazon. 

If it suddenly starts getting things wrong then it's because of how Nintendo distribute they're consoles, not because Amazon 'often gets it wrong.' 

If Pachter is right then we need to adjust how we evaluate Amazon. Switch is a new console and therefore we could be looking at a new paradigm.

Interesting words from the analyst. Amazon seems to suggest and easy switch victory. Maybe that site is biased towards switch sales? 

Switch consoles are constantly in the top 20 on Amazon yet end up with lower than the competition in sales. I tried to mention this before as well. It seems to do very well at Amazon but it's a fraction of what Sony or Microsoft are doing elsewhere. B&M stores or other digital retailers.

I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one that seeing Amazon ranking comes to the conclusion that PS4 may win the month, I already said it on Amazon threath

Excellent post. In terms of national sales amazon has definitely been biased towards Nintendo.
