It's too bad too. I watched Gunslinger Girl and loved every minute of it. It's about near death girls who get a second chance at life, but are turned into ruthless cybernetic assassins fighting against a domestic terrorism group called the Five Republics Faction, and to a lesser extent, the Italian Mafia. It's amazing, and it's sad that some people won't give it a chance. The people who worked on it did Monster and then Death Note. It's pedigree material that should be schlocky. You can watch the first 2 episodes legally on Funimation's website here: https://www.funimation.com/shows/gunslinger-girl/fratello-siblings/uncut/?lang=english

Rant and plugging over.

Shouldn't most of the credit go to the creators of the original source material itself all of which were derived from the manga ?

Yeah, Yu Aida made a good manga, but the direction and editing is something mostly found in film, TV, and anime. They did a good job. Scenes are exactly as long as they need to be, and no longer. They explore ideas, but never directly, it's usually done through dialogue and framing (IIRC, there's some Kubrick-like shots that I really like/liked when I watched it. That reverse tracking shot is trademark Kubrick. It's found in at least 3 films of his, the one in Full Metal Jacket being my favorite. Of course, that too was based on a book, but Kubrick's direction brings the material to life).

Currently (Re-)Playing: Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void Multiplayer, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Currently Watching: The Shield, Stein's;Gate, Narcos

What one country allows, doesn't mean the other has to. Trying to tear down one wall, while saying we should tear down the rest isn't going to work at all. it will never work with with different the countries operate and think.

Also, since we're here and only a few have seen the actual trailer:

Fun for the whole family.

inb4 gun violence countermeasure, because that's exactly what this VN is all about /s.

Dont you see the problem with your own statements? Steam is universal, the games was removed from all stores, Japan, Korea and other Asian countries too. Steam doesnt have separate stores unlike PS for example. So everything is measured by american values for what is acceptable and what isnt, even in peoples other countries. Doesnt sound like an open and balanced platform to me.

Second , you completely ignore the fact that the developer was 100% ready to cooperate with valve and remove or change any things necessary, like the two images. You also take these images completley out of context, the description of the teacher reads that hes a creep who sets up cameras in bathrooms. The Girl which is the heroine sees that and taunts him, the pose suggests. The Second image, from what i can read it says something about a price and lets meet up, the school fortune from the story description?

Now, I can understand Steam not wanting that game, but I don't think it's explicit enough to be considered child porn, and thus I think it should still be legal.

As if you haven't taken things out of context or misunderstood explanations from others before. You have got gall to pull that.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Well Steam doesn't, and I'm sure the public eye wouldn't either. What's fine to you isn't always accepted by others.

Steam doesn't what? Think it should be legal? I don't know if they're calling for its ban.

Steam doesn't think it's fitting for the storefront, hence their decision.

I said that I can understand why they wouldn't want it on their store. It could cause some PR issues for them.

Which is why there is nothing more to go on beyond this point.

They didn't want it on their store and OP was having a fit over it (like always when it comes to PC/Japanese related content).

So it shouldn't be accepted on the first place or it should have been communicated to the dev the changes needed. Also the accusatory last e-mail can lead then to sues.
