What part of that post was him and which was you? I'm really confused by the lack of quote boxes.
As a matter of fact I do:
Not only does this show how freakishly popular the Wii was, it also shows how important November has become in recent years for PlayStation & Xbox. Prior to 2011, November was a much smaller portion of overall Q4 sales for the two brands. 2011 was when we really started to see aggressive Black Friday promotions, notably the temporary price cuts that are now the norm. While it's hard to say if November's growing importance has come at the expense of December, there's no doubt that November has been on the rise. |
I do think it has. Last year was a bit of an aberration, I think, as the XB and PS4 only dropped $50 and generally had stronger sale prices throughout December, as the two of them seemed to be trying to make up a little lost ground from their relatively staid BF sales. This year, the XB had the X launch and the $189 bundle, but even before that, most bundles were $249 with a free game for the two weeks between COD's and SW's releases. PS4's $199 sale was a massive price cut and it doesn't seem they are going to match this month, more likely they are going to drop $50 off all the 1tb bundles sometime this week or Sunday, as Target's website already posted this morning and then took down this afternoon. It would not surprise me if both of those systems experience a decline in December and the Switch experiences an impressive increase.
