And as for this "the poor take on all the burden", it's absolute BS. You do realize that the rich in this country pay an overwhelming majority of taxes right?  852,000 Americans alone pay for 39% of federal tax income, and the top 10% alone pays for over 70% of it. The bottom 50% on the other hand pays for less than 3% of tax revenue.

See, the problem here is that the people who earn 90% of the money should also pay 90% of the taxes. But they don't because their tax burden is smaller than less wealthy people. How is that fair?

There tax percentage is higher the more they earn. The tax burden is higher with them, not less.

Except for the fact that AT&T and other companies stating that what they are doing is 100% in direct response to the Tax break getting passed.

I mean within hours of the tax cut getting announced multiple companies come out with statements and plans for major bonuses for their employees and plans to invest in millions of dollars in the U.S. and saying it has 100% to do with the tax cut bill being passed. I guess if we ignore that, then yes the tax break has nothing to do with what they are doing.

All a PR stunt.  Wow 1 time bonus check of 1,000 dollars (after 35% capital gains tax on the bonus check they probably will get about 700 dollars) Amazing...  Let's just look at what some other companies did for their employees in 2016 before the asshole took power.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/joannmuller/2017/02/07/gm-factory-workers-take-home-12000-bonuses-on-record-2016-north-american-profits/#1d4a63a21314

"General Motors' 52,000 hourly workers will take home profit sharing checks of up to $12,000, after the U.S. automaker racked up a record year in 2016, including $12 billion profit in North America.

Ford, which earned $9 billion in North America last year, will pay an average $9,000 to more than 56,000 unionized auto workers. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will pay $5,000 extra to some 40,000 unionized workers after posting a $5.1 billion profit in North America."

Those fucking unions though right with their damn profit sharing demands.  Good thing a lot of states now have laws like right to work to keep those pesky unions away.

And how much did the employees pay in union dues that year?

Most people don't understand how taxes work. And good luck with all the misleading info from political sides trying to confuse voters besides.

But take a look at the below bracket. Lets use the new rates for example sake.

If you make $100,000 in 2018, how much do you pay in taxes that year? I'm betting 99% of the US population can not answer that correctly.

A hint: It is not $24,000 or 24% of $100,000.00

Well ofcourse :).

Someone was at a symposium that had like 50 high executives from fortune 500 companies and other large companies.  They asked the presidents/vp's if they would invest the savings in taxes for new infrastructure...basically spending on new things.  Like TWO of them responded that they'd use the new tax money to build. The other 48 said they would spend the money on buying back stock and giving higher dividends to their stock holders.

CORPORATE TAX BREAK...PERMANENT 20% (unlike the personal ones for middle-income families that will last for five years before going up again)....USELESS.

The Republican Senate has ONE HUNDRED PERCENT screwed up "the biggest win they've had in years".

*surprise*

Well, AT&T just announced it will be giving 200,000 of its employees a 1,000 bonus because of the new Tax plan.

I would imagine those 200,000 people will probably be thinking twice next election about who they may vote for. I believe I read that it was AT&T 200,000 union members too. Union members are typically democrats. Wonder how many may vote differently now.

Edit: Funny article. http://freebeacon.com/issues/schumer-attacks-att-not-helping-workers-company-announces-bonuses/

ey for the very, very wealthy."

This was apparently even AFTER AT&T announced their plan to give $1,000 to 200,000 employees.

As I said in an earlier post, all this doom and gloom, Armageddon talk by democrats about "EVERYTHING" that the republicans or Trump does could very backfire on them big time. We been hearing for months now how this tax plan will ruin America and make us all broke and only benefit the rich, ect. How trustworthy does the media and democrats that touted that look to those 200,000 employees right now.

Ummm buddy....the tax break doesn't even show up for another year. Whatever AT and T is doing now has nothing to do with that ridiculous tax break.

Trump is doing great. Now that he passed tax reform he will get re-elected easily. Like him or not he had a great year.

Uhhh do you even pay attention to the news?  His approval rating is 35% which is the lowest any president has EVER been at any time including Nixon.  You must have no post-seconday education because his typical followers...like 60% of the people still for him...none of them has a college or university degree.  I'd say "kind of makes you think" but that'd be wrong because it sounds like most of his insane followers have a hard time thinking.

The tax break shows up Jan. 1st. Tax brackets are adjusted to reflect the new ones and people will be charged less in taxes per pay period. In 2019 when you file your taxes though is when you will be able to fully take advantage of the new laws.

No surprises in the poll, lol

That is a horrible way of thinking. You will never get people to support you or like you if you demean them in any way. Two classic examples are:

1. Mitt Romney's comment about 50% of the people will never vote Republican cause they are no tax paying citizens

2. Hillary Clintons comment about deplorables

I'm sure you notice how that wound up for both sides. Those two comments I feel hurt their voting the most out of any and all controversies surrounding either.

Heck, just go to a bar and buy a round of shots for some people and make a toast to "the deplorables" You won't be just a hero for buying a shot, they will just love you for that comment cause they take pride in being a deplorable. I constantly hear people being proud of being a deplorable.

This thinking is inherently flawed. Who will get money if the rich have to put most of it towards taxes? How can the stock market and economy grow if there is no one to invest in it? I get it, most people are jealous of the wealthy, hell, 99.9% of the time I think they're detached from reality, but the role that they play is vital. Without the rich, there is no job for you to make money, no new innovative products due to lack of investment, and quite frankly, you'll just end up with a country full of poverty.

Those fucking unions though right with their damn profit sharing demands.  Good thing a lot of states now have laws like right to work to keep those pesky unions away.

52,000 x 12,000 = 624,000,000

9,000 x 56,000 = 504,000,000

1,000 x 200,000 = 200,000,000

So yes, not as much. But it is still a substantial amount. Go and ask those 200,000 employees at AT&T what they think. See if they would rather not get the $1,000 or not.

Don't forget they also said they will be investing $1 billion as well. This all on just a bill being passed. Ford and GM seem to be better companies to their employees for bonuses. The article I posted flat out had a congressman talking how AT&T sucks as giving their employees bonuses. I looked and they had like 24 billion profit in 2016. So double that of GM. I have no idea if they gave their employees anything.

But quit downplaying this. As I said already.

You sound like a media sheep. Trump could walk to your front door and hand you a $1,000 check and you would find some way to bash that as being evil and bad. Why are you so upset that everyday people are getting money due to this tax law? Heck even a shitty company like AT&T gave their employees a huge bonus and are investing in capital in the US. That means more jobs in the US, not jobs in China or wherever else.

Just because they don't pay very well.  I believe their starting phone rep jobs are around 12-15 dollars a hour at most doesn't mean they deserve a pat on the back because they throw a small bone to their underpaid employees who I bet over half of them are working paycheck to paycheck.

You know if Republicans really cared about helping people that are working paycheck to paycheck (which some are actually in the supposed middle class if you can call it that anymore) then they would tie the min wage to inflation so it wouldn't be stuck at 7.50 a hour but fuck it lets just have to states pick up the slack considering congress can barely keep the government running.

Media sheep?  You sound like a dumb republican.  You can fuck off and I'm fucking off out of this thread for good and possibly the site.  Just remember nobody likes you.

No clue but I know their making way more money per hour than my nonunion manufacturing job.

I say it's best that he be removed from office ASAP. And this is coming from someone who dislikes the Democratic Party.
