sorry, I saw that video while I was checking through similar vids to the one i posted, but that was just generally lame and only annoying, not scary at all. I didn't even twitch. I think the video was actually working at cross purposes, cause I was quite relaxed from the beginning of it.

this one is much better:

actually it has to do with the fact that a silhouette is exactly the same from the front and the back, so there are always 2 ways to interpret any nondefined image. further more, the third dimension can only be extrapolated from visual cues on a 2 dimensional media, since our only cue is that movement is happening, but no shaodows or lines or features tell us anything more, we are left open on which direction to extrapolate.

^OK and nothing you see in movies is actually moving its just a series of frames. What are you trying to say?

It looks to me to be a 3d character rotating. The silhouette is what causes the illusion.

You don't understand.  Everything you view in motion on a digital medium is viewed in frames, but some things are actual digital 3D models and some things are not.  Hence the difference between 2D and 3D.  This is not a 3D rendered object, but a series of 2D objects.  Sorry if that wasn't clear in my last post.

Grey is right and I think you missunderstand. It looks to me to be created using 3d software specifically Poser. I do not think these frames where made by hand. (maybe edited but not created)

They are saying that the image is 2d which of course it is. I am talking about how it is made.

If you have a link saying how it was created I would like to see it. To me it reaks of a 3D ap.

"Back off, man. I'm a scientist."

Your theories are the worst kind of popular tripe, your methods are sloppy, and your conclusions are highly questionable! You are a poor scientist. Especially if you think the moon landing was faked.

Here's the most evil optical illusion I've seen in a long time (took some digging to find this one again).

The dancer spins in the direction based on which half of your brain is most active.

I really like this one because I can change which way the dancer is spinning almost at will. =]

Its fake, it changes the spin direction by itseld its not your mind.

Keep telling yourself that. ^_~

Well what I found out is that when it is rotating right, look at the legs, the left leg is touching the ground, but then it starts rotating the other way, and now look what leg is now on the ground. Yeah the right, so actually that image changes physically its not only your mind changing its rotation. You can prove it by watching it with more people, you'll notice that all with notice the change at the same time. I may be wrong if there is something im not aware of and it can actually be changed with the mind, but im pretty sure there is a physical change involved while the image is moving.

Mmmh by watching it a little more time, it really seems that the image rotates by itself. It might have fooled you, but not me.

Saving the GIF and looking at the frames totally destorys your arguement.

Also can someone draw the monster in the trees in the picture above?
