Forums - Sony - what do you expect from PSX 2017?

I would love a Resistance collection for PS4 along with a new installment announced! Tbh I'd just be happy to replay the first game again but looking sharper and better textures

This would be so awesome. I love RFOM, but Resistance 3 didn't really answer any of the questions asked. I'd love a fourth Resistance game, but I fear that's wishfull thinking.

The reveal of LoD remake naturally....

In terms of new games I'm not expecting much, likely new details and some firm release dates on 2018 titles. I'd love Bloodborne 2, but I think that may be an 2018 E3 announcement.

i agree, next from game, will not shown before e3 2018

Wild, Dreams VR, Ghost Of Tsushima and eventually a first glimpse at TLOUp2 gameplay.
A new Devil May Cry as rumoured maybe and hell, they need to announce a new From Software game!
Curious what it will be...we know there are two games and if I remember right one being called “Phantom Wail” is supposed to play in Maya/Aztec territory/mythology.

That is not gonna happen. It's not as simple as flipping a switch (pun not intended). Wich btw the switch is defenitly not guaranteed to get ports of anything vita.

Like, it comes across as you want some Vita games but don't want to buy one. Pretty akward.

But the Switch has been getting ports of Vita games and of successor games that would have been on a Vita successor (i.e. Disgaea 5).

I'm pretty sure in a few years almost all the devs that were working on third party titles on the Vita in the last few years after Sony dropped support for the platform will either make PS4/Switch titles or PS4/Switch/PC titles.

This is especially true considering there's a very very very low chance of Sony even bothering getting back into the portable gaming business. They themselves gave up already years ago.

Its already happening: https://gematsu.com/c/switch

Interesting to see Atelier coming to the Switch.  If more JRPGs come to the Switch, especially good exclusives I might finally consider buying one.

Disgaea is a playstation home console series.

Like, sure it is meant to have sucessors and some ports (the switch), that is natural and happens with every new system. But putting all existing games on the switch or PSN is just not a realistic request. It would be a huge technical undertaking, not to mention a licensing nightmare. It's just not gonna happen. If theres quite a few Vita games you want, you are better off getting one. It really is a much better system than sales make believe.

You make it sound like Disgaea is exclusive to Playstation home consoles which is incorrect. It is not exclusive to Playstation home consoles and playstation altogether.

Disgaea PC (Steam)
Disgaea DS (Nintendo DS)
Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness (PSP)
Disgaea 2 PC (Steam)
Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days (PSP)
Disgaea 3 (PSV)
Disgaea 4 (PSV)
Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch)

Thats excluding the spinoffs most of which are on non-home Playstation consoles.

Putting all existing games on PSN is possible, its not a matter of if but a matter of when. We've seen Sony being capable of doing legacy titles on their modern systems digitally via PSN for years.

PS1 classics on PS3 PSN
PS2 classics on PS3 PSN and PS4 PSN.

Its possible especially when Sony has the technology and resources.

And no there's not a few Vita titles I want - there's practically two titles I only want and to be honest both of them are bottom tier especially when there are other versions I can play. All the other Vita titles I wanted are already on all other platforms I own.

If there are any other titles I want, I'll get them on my PS4, my PC or my future Switch. If they dont come out this gen, surely will come out in future gens. I can wait.

Edit: Sales dont mean shit to me. I support a platform only if the price and library is right - neither aspects which benefit me when it comes to the Vita.

Disgaea games always come to PS home consoles first. You are talking about ports.

So, what you are saying now is a bit different than what you said before. If what you mean is that Sony can port/emulate some Vita games, that is entirely possible. But just like with PS2 to PS3, it takes work and it will be mainly select titles due to licensing issues and costs. When you say they will port the whole thing, they will not 100% guarantee you that because it's not economically viable and theres thousands of games out on the Vita. As i said before, if you mean everything, no, it's never gonna happen. If you mean select titles, yes, it's very likely to happen.

I heavily doubt it. But who knows. A Ninjasamuraistealth game by Sucker Punch came out of nowhere. And From has been quiet for some time now. Dark Souls 3 was their last big game, announced in 2015 at e3, 2016 q1 release. Yea, maybe a third party thing. We ll zee.

I dont know.

What we know, they have two - three games in development. And they made this known a long time ago. Sept. 2016. So ya, its about time they reveal sth. PSX 2017 would be a good oppurtunity.

1 1/2 weeks and we will be wiser.
